Alright, BAs, how long has it taken you to consume a single beer? Enough of you have consumed whales and boozy bombs that I figure this would be an interesting topic for discussion.
For me, I polished off an entire bomber of whiskey barrel aged Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine in one night. It took roughly (pun not intended) five hours to drink the whole thing. I had to take small sips every five to ten minutes. It was fresh, and hot and boozy as hell.

I recently been picking up four packs of Tiny from Weyerbacher for just 12.50. Polish it off over the course of 5 hours so roughly about 45 minutes of slow sipping.

Worked through a Black Tuesday with my brother and it took about 2 hours for 16 ounces from me. Serious booze bomb.

My average time for an Old Fashioned is 4 minutes so divide that by 2 for beer unless I am not enjoying it. But I get your point....SN Hoptimum 1 1/2 hours. Yikes!

I average 30 minutes no matter what I'm drinking, but I only drink four a day at most and nit back to back.

Yes...it was by far the booziest beer I've ever had. 13.9% abv. It was like drinking straight whiskey. It tasted like kerosene. Every sip was like swallowing fire.

This actually is an interesting question and a good one. Thanks for asking it! Just had a Prairie Bomb! tonight and it took a few hours to consume at a solid 13%. Not very boozy but had a lot of chocolate and some coffee flavor. I absolutely do not drink coffee so it takes a while for me, there's also some spice from chilis so it's a complex beer.

However, this leads me to a sub-question that relates to the topic. If you are a slow sipper, should you really serve your beer at cellar temp? If it's going to sit in your glass for an hour or so... it will warm up considerably. I typically do not pour my beers at cellar temps. They start out a bit colder from the fridge but by the time I've had more than a few sips, they've warmed up to the proper temp since I drink slowly, especially on the complex, high abv stuff.

I probably average about 30-45 minutes per 12oz of beer in the 10%-15% abv category, unless that alcohol is "hidden" very well. (Prairie BOMB! for example) But if it literally tastes like alcohol (barrel aged Narwhal for example) I might nurse it a little longer, and I wont buy it again. I am a firm believer in that, if I wanted to taste the alcohol, I would just drink liquor or spirits. For those kind of days, absinthe hits the spot, as I can mix it to my liking. Alcohol should compliment the flavor of beer and never overpower it to where you are nursing it for hours on end. At least for my personal tastes...

Most beers: 25 mins. However it took me 3 hours to finish off Stone Chai-Spiced Stout. Most beers around 10% ABV take me quite a while.

I spent an hour and a half drinking 11 oz of CBS in 2011. Not because it was rough but because at the time it was a mind blowing beer and I didn't know if I was ever gong to drink it again.

26 hrs...... I started a BCBS at my brother inlay's place on Christmas Eve, put it on the mantle to go split firewood, came in side to dinner on the table. I had totally forgotten about until the next evening.... I went looking on the mantle and it was still there, just moved behind the evergreen roping!! It wasn't intentional but......

Assuming I like the beer, then regardless of style I can get it down quickly. So some of my longer efforts are exercises in will power, for beers I love that are in limited quantity. I think I've managed to make a bomber last nearly two hours once or twice. Doesn't feel natural though....

I can't remember any bottle taking more than an hour and that includes Grey Monday and Mocha Wednesday. Whenever I drink a high ABV bomber I pour it into a taster glass. Four ounces at a time goes down a lot faster than pouring it into a snifter.

    Mine was roughly an hour.
It wasn't a big and boozy one.
But it was my first sour.

Not sure if this counts, but technically it took me around 20 hours to finish off a Ten Fidy. I drank half of it one night and then the next day used the rest to make a beer milkshake. It was delicious.

I have to admit I am quite the speedy drinker as compared to some. I can drink a bomber of anything in under two hours.
