I can't say it's ever taken me more than 30 minutes to finish a beer. Honestly I'd be surprised if my longest were over 20, maybe even 15. That includes 22oz. bottles, like Parabola, Sucaba, just about anything. Normally down the hatch within 5-10. I suppose having any good beer in front of me is just to tempting to let it linger.

:grimacing: Will fly in should you decide to repeat....

That aside....around 7 hours on a bomber of BCBS.

About an hour on the first 3/4's of it, then about 15 min. on my last 1/4 of the bottle when I woke up from my Goose Island induced coma some 6 hrs later. Granted, was a long day and I was a beer rookie at the time. I still remember being happy as hell that I didn't polish the whole bottle off before kicking in the zzzzz's.

Normally, anything under, say, 8% abv, the length of time it takes me to walk away from the refrigerator, turn around, and walk back again. Does that mean I'm doing it wrong?

I did have a Jack's Abby Bride Maker barleywine that took the best part of a half-hour but it was so sweet I had to keep leaving it to go brush my teeth.

When I was a noob, my first KBS, took me about an hour. Every sip was delicious.

I had a 3 year old bomber of Cortland Brewing Co. Bourbon Barrel Aged Flight Level 410 Barleywine that took me about 2 hours to polish off. It was a bit past it's prime and was on the heavier sherry side of things for an ages Barleywine. For some reason, Saison/Farmhouse Ales go down like water no matter what the ABV. 4-9%, doesn't matter, I just love them.

Chocolate Rain took me a good 2 hours I'd say. I had a really nice buzz, needless to say.

ETA: this was 2012. 19.5% if I remember.

A snifter of barrel aged vanilla Dark Lord at DLD a few years back, before they closed the pub for the event. It was a nasty rainy day, much like last year, and there were open seats inside (yup - no crap). Probably took me an hour to sip that snifter, because there was so much going on.

    I kept repeating Babe Ruth....Lou Gehrig....Ernie Banks....

At least I'm not alone. I realize it's less than half the strength of actual whiskey, but except for a faint hint of pine, all I could taste was whiskey. It wasn't balanced or complex or flavorful, it was just extraordinarily hot and boozy, and I don't like hard liquor.
I can drink high-abv beers if it's better hidden. I had a bomber of Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break, and at 11.5%, it went down way to easy.

I'm going to be drinking regular Bigfoot for the first time tonight, so I'm curious to see if I'll like it.

It cost $16.99 and it was a birthday gift from one of my best friends. I would have felt really bad if I had told him I drainpoured it.

No, it would appear I am the minority. However, I would like to point out that I drank a pint of KBS in 45 minutes, and 12 of Hoptimum in 20. It's just particular beers that taste way too boozy to me that I have such a hard time drinking, and BA Bigfoot was the worst of the lot so far.

Probably took me 1.5 hours to work through a Boulevard BBQ.

The beer was hot and boozy...hour and a half later, so was I. It was one of the few times I regretted not calling a friend to come over and help.

30 min to an hour for 12 oz BCBS. Probably an hour or a little more for a 22 oz. OG BC Vanilla in 2010.

One of these years when I buy a lot, I'm going to chug a BCBS just to say I did it.

It was a mixture of Hops, Whiskey and Syrup that didn't set well with me. I am a fan of Barrel Aged Barleywines but not hoppy BA Barleywines. I Crushed a BA Narwhal like no one's business though.

I thought about starting a shortest time to drink a beer thread the other day. It only takes me an hour to drink 3 at my normal pace.

For me, it is all dependent on strength and style, but my estimates are as follows:
    750ml (~25oz) ~3-4 hours (especially a Barrel-Aged offering)
22oz bottle ~2-3 hours (beer being =>10% ABV)
    12oz bottle, somwhere b/w 45 min and 2 hours

That said, I prefer drinking 2-3 'big' beers of varying styles and taking my time rather than drinking 3,4,5 of the same beers in a 'session' that are lower ABV.
