I would love to find a good hearty Amber, if possible even a little bitter. Any Suggestions?

Those are some of the ones I liked that are sort of middle of the road. Not really a style I have checked out a ton either.

Check the list mentioned above and find some that are available near you. Some beers on the top list might be extremely hoppy and taste like darker IPAs, not sure if you're looking for hops.

I do like IPA's and Hops and have been on kind of a Hop kick lately. I was hoping to find one that matches a good blend of Hops with the Amber Malts. Seems like there are some great suggestions on the list that meet that description!

Try Caldera Ashland Amber if it's available to you. I really enjoy that one.

An oldie but goodie that you should try is Anderson Valley's Boont Amber. Also give their ESB a shot- it's bigger, hoppier, yet balanced and very, very quaffable.

Another vote for Troegs Hopback. Yards Extra Special Ale is pretty good too.

+ 1 to Brooklyn Lager - simply awesome. On the ale side I would highly recommend Rogue St Rogue Red Ale. Bitter.

If you can get Zoe in NC that would be my recommendation.

Maine Brewing's Zoe is fantastic. Why Noone has mentioned Nugget Nectar yet?
