I've been to 2 Dark Lord days, drank Darkness, Abyss, KBS, and many other thick tar monsters.

I really like those beers but they aren't something I drink normally. I would but I don't come across them that often. I've tried a few easier to get imperial stouts but none of them get the job done.

So does anyone have a recommendation for a beer that is a bit easier to get than all those beautiful bottles of goopy joy but is still nice, thick, and delicious?

Marshal Zhukovs is the thickest stout I've had. Its delicious as well

Great Divide Yeti might go well with a Ring Burger!

On the main page, the window next to beer talk indicated that the most recent post was in the thread "Looking for a great thick..." Happy this was a beer question. I second Boris and Founders IS

I wish more people would skip over Founder's, because then I could have more for myself! Fantastic beer...

Also agree with Bell's Expedition, Ten Fidy, Marshall Zhukov's. Zhukov's is about as thick as they come, especially the previous batches.

+1 to the couple folks that answered Hoppin Frog DORIS. Freakin awesome and available year round.
Almost all the others mentioned are great- particularly if you let 'em age. The feel gets creamier and the tastes blend better.

I think Plead the 5th, Ten Fidy, and BCBS are the thickest that I've encountered so far.

+1 to ten fiddy for a get-anywhere monster. An innnnsane alternative though is De Molen "Hel & Verdoemenis". De Molen seem to be gaining A LOT of ground in California, and they're beginning to crop up all over the place - if they're becoming more prevalent in your region too and you can get your hands on a bottle of Hel, I can guarantee beast-sized satisfaction.

D.O.R.I.S. Its thick. And available. Had everything youve had except KtG and this is thicker then them all. Hopefully you have access to Hoppin Frog.

Thanks for all the responses. I've had most of these and even the De Molen. I have NOT had the D.O.R.I.S. though. I just see the price and every time I pick something else. I'll hit it up next time though. Hoppin Frog is everywhere (thankfully)

I haven't had the Cigar City either but I just watched a couple video reviews on it and man it looks amazing. Might be hard to get though.

    Thanks beer peoples.

I would go for Yeti. Black Albert is also awesome and I know people will hate me for this, but Mikkeller Black is amazing!
