Hello all, I am in the process of looking for a new kegerator. I only have a few stipulations. This Kegerator must be purchased from Amazon (lots of gift cards) and it must be below 1300 Dollars. I have found this one but wanted to get some feedback. I will take either single or dual tap setup. Thanks everyone. https://www.amazon.com/Summit-SBC63...d=1465589374&sr=1-4&keywords=summit+kegerator
Personally, I'd go with the Beverage Air single tap and maybe upgrade the tower down the line if you want two faucets: https://www.amazon.com/Beverage-Air...771350&sr=8-1&keywords=beverage+air+kegerator It's above your price point but seems to be the gold standard.
It might be the gold standard, but I was super disappointed in mine. The thermostat broke within 13 months (right after warranty) and was freezing my beer, not to mention is was super loud. I ended up getting rid of it and replacing it with a Summit mini fridge. Been pumping out 34 degree beer for over 5 years now, I couldn't be happier.
The bev air is always mentioned on here since it does its job well and most people don't have major issues (barring the previous poster). Its a safe bet for sure and if your budget is in that area any way its probably a good idea. One of the main things is to make sure whatever you buy is going to operate at the right temperature. Seems like that's the biggest issue with most of the cheaper models is that they barely get down to 40 degrees. Personally I bought a cheap kegerator from Home Depot and got lucky that it works pretty well (before I knew anything about kegerators). I changed over the tower and faucets. Swapped to Perlick for one of the faucets and will eventually upgrade the other faucet. At some point I'll upgrade the regulator because it is crap but it does the job for now. Assuming the cooling aspect of it stands up then I'll still have only invested around $700-800 into it (going on 2 years soon). If it goes I'd go for a bev air. The other things to look for is what can fit into the kegerator. The bev air can fit both a sixth and a thin quarter in it at the same time which mine can't. There are a couple of beers I can only get in thin quarters that I don't get because I'd have to keep one side of the keg empty (my wife's side). So make sure it will fit what you want in it as well.
