Not sure if they distribute to Minn, but Otter Creek's Copper Ale is a solid choice.

Not my favorite style, but Fat Tire and Yuengling sell a lot of beer. I don't really get the Nugget Nectar thing either, and I like hoppy brews, but NN deosn't do it for me. But G Knight does..

You may want to wait on that Fuller's. I, too, had been looking forward to it. When I found it at a local bottleshop it was expensive and disappointing. some here suggested that it didn't age well on its journey across the Atlantic but said if you could get it in its native habitat it would be much better. I do think Bell's Amber is a nice choice with a nice touch of hops for an amber. I also like Fat Tire if I can find it in a can (just tastes better to me).

If some of my favorite English Bitters weren't so expensive I'd drink them more often, Batemans and Bluebird are tremendous beers.

Coop Native Amber might make it up to Minnesota, dunno for sure. 16 oz tallboy cans. Malty, biscuity with some good hop presence. Great beer.

Red Ales are frequently considered as their own category, but they are really at the malty end of the Amber Ale range definition spectrum. A number of posts above have recommended red ales, so don't ignore them just because they don't carry the 'amber' title on the label. I've never met a red that I didn't like.

Love Odell Red, Bell's Amber, and Lagunitas Imperial Red. All three can be found in MN, but the Odell and Lagunitas are seasonal.

Odell Red is one of my favorite beers ever. I hate seeing it leave the shelves every spring, but that tells me st lupulin is on the way. I'm not sure if marble brewing makes it up there, but their imperial red is amazing, so is oskar blues gknight.

I'll throw in with Great Lakes Eliot Ness and also the Alesmith Anvil. I also enjoyed a stripper once named Amber, while I was sipping on a beer.

Lucky 13 might be my favorite beer right now. While sticking with Lagunitas, their Censored ale is also a solid amber, and might be exactly what you're looking for.
