I have a question. It doesnt fit in the Trade forum.

I really want some of the Cantillon lambics. I've already had Rose de Gambrinus and Iris, and now I want more. Anyone know specifically where I can buy a bottle of them. Im looking for Mamouche, Fou'Foune, St. Lamvinus, Kriek, and the Lou Pepe series? Im not opposed to buying a bottle and having it shipped from somewhere, but anywhere close to Pittsburgh, PA; Durham, NC; or Youngstown, OH would be great.

Honestly, if someone has knowledge of a shelf full of Fou Foune or any of those you are seeking, they probably aren't going to post it here.

Try Etre Gourmet or Belgium In A Box.

It's unlikely that you'll find any of those on the shelf in the regions you've specified. People have already caught on. Best bet is to just order from the motherland.

Shipping will cost a pretty penny, though. I have heard that sometimes American online retailers will occasionally have Cantillon stuff for sale, but it doesn't last long.

Get on Etre quick before they're cut off from Cantillon. Try splitting the cost with a friend. Don't rage too hard on buying the Lou Pepe series or Mamouche. They aren't that good. Maybe you'll like them, I don't know. To me it's peasant shit.

I guess all in all ~$70 for a bottle of St. Lamvinus isn't TOO bad.. :stuck_out_tongue:

I just ordered 23 Cantillon bottles last week-- it was a mix of different beers, Rose, Kriek, Iris, Vigneronne, and St Lam...
Averaged out to about $19 per bottle after shipping.
That works out to being pretty fair.

In the past year or so I've gotten Cantillon Classic Geuze in Durham at Sam's and the Lou Pepe Kriek in Greensboro (Pipe & Pint) and Boone (Peabody's). Just have to keep your eyes open and strike up a conversation with the folks that work there.

I've also had good luck finding it in Greenville, SC and of course Philly & NYC.

23 x $19 = $437. You just made me feel a little better about what I spent on beer last week

I think everyone here has pretty much summed it up, but I have honestly turned to alternatives instead of shipping from Belgium a lot.

For Gueuze, I drink a lot more 3F (which has been hard to find recently but I find it better than Cantillon Classic), Girardin, Tilquin, Boon (regular and Mariage), amongst others.

For Fruit Lambic, I've been drinking a lot of Boon Kriek Mariage Parfait. I also have had a few bottles of 3F Oude Kriek

What's the deal with Etre being cut off from Cantillon? When is this supposed to happen and why?

I'm surprised ĂȘtre is losing the Cantillon-- they seem to keep the bottle prices low and fuck you on the shipping..
Belgiuminabox is the one that needs cutting off-- i got an email from them 2 months ago advertising fresh Vigneronne for $55 per bottle! That beer costs <$20 when it has been distibuted stateside!

Jean doesn't like seeing his beers' prices getting jacked up... And he especially hates eBaying.
That's why he did Zwanze Day instead of releasing bottles. And that is why there were lots of rumors of Cantillon cutting ties with Shelton Bros importers (because Jean was outraged when he learned how much each bottle was costing here).

Personally, I'd be ok with all web stores being cut-off if it means more gets distributed-- and the prices get cheaper!
