I am looking to get a hold of some Coors Peak for a buddy of mine who was diagnosed with Celiacs right in the middle of his beer drinking college days. He still tailgates at football games and he would like to get ahold of something he can drink that isn't made of apples.

There are a couple of options around here, but his favorite light beer before being diagnosed was Coors Light, so he has been wanting to try Coors Peak pretty badly. I would like to help him out with that, unfortunately it is only available in the Portland and Seattle markets.

I would like to find someone that would be willing to help me out in getting some and I would be happy to figure out what that would take. I could trade beer, or find some other way to make it right.

    Thanks - Michael

Coors makes a gluten free beer only available in Washington and Oregon? Really? :astonished:

I think I see this at Safeway and Fred Meyer regularly. I can try to help you out. Let me look after work today.

I see commercials for it on TV all the time, didn't realize it was only here in the PNW.

Have you looked for Omission beers in Iowa? Probably much better than the Coors.

I'm sure it's better, but it sounds like his buddy loved Coors Light back in the day and this would be a nolstalgic gift for him.

I've seen billboards for it around town. (Advertising works, kids!) I didn't know Portland was a test market, though.

I had a can of Zima in Japan while hanging out at Yoyogi Park in 2014. Also had a bottle of Zima Pink. For science.

    Kujira!!!

I image we're a test market for those types of things like the south is a test market for things like "Busch Copper" and things like that.

I used to enjoy the occasional Zima every so often as a change-up drink. In some ways it an almost perfect lawnmower "beer".

I have the elusive Red Pea... Uhh, I mean Coors Peak if somebody is looking to make a trade with this fellow. I'm sure it's around in grocery stores too.

Saw tons of it today at Safeway. If you still want some dude, let me know. I'll gladly buy it from Bobs to make this even more awesome.

It's an amber lager, so probably not.

What an interesting test market. The upper left certainly has that gluten-free, hipster reputation. On the one hand, I bet gluten-free beer sells relatively well here in relation to the rest of the country. On the other, I think I've read BMC has it's lowest market share up here. Perhaps they're thinking if they can sell it here, they can sell it anywhere?

Are we now linking gluten-free to hipsters? :flushed:

TANGENT!! Sorry, don't mean to make sweeping generalizations... But in my personal opinion(not the opinion of our business), yeah, I think the gluten-free thing is waaaaay overblown. There are certainly people with celiac, and with legitimate gluten intolerance. That's fact. But I also think the group with the highest propensity to glob onto a new, exciting development, are the hipsters. I mean, don't get me wrong, I can rock a neckbeard with the best of them, but you won't catch me in a pair of skinny jeans.
