If anyone who sees this and has gone in the past could leave some feedback, that would be appreciated. Thinking about going but wondering if it is worth it. Main questions I have are:

    1) It says 5 sample tickets included with the cost of the ticket. So for $45 you only get 5 samples and then have to pay for the rest of your pours or how does that work?

    2) How warm are these heated tents? The pictures on the website have everyone bundled up pretty good and it's supposed to be brutally cold this Saturday.

    3) No other questions, just looking for tips or other feedback

    1) Yes but the pours are decent and the glass that comes with it is pretty cool. Its also a music festival so you are also paying for that.

    2) The tents are a break from the cold but they arent warm. There is also usually some fires. Its going to be brutal cold this weekend which sucks. Its been nice all winter here and that will be the coldest day by far this year and its supposed to warm right up again. Dress very warm, especially your feet. dress as if you are going ice fishing or skiing.

    3) its always fun. good food will be available. there will be some good beers, ciders, and wines available. should be a few limited offerings spread around. Traverse City is awesome so if you are cold and want to leave then you have a ton of awesome options for food and beer or fun of many kinds. i always have fun when i go but the cold is scaring me away this year i think.

Are you able to purchase more after your 5 tickets are gone? For a beer festival advertising 200 different beers on tap, I'd like to try more. Overall, that doesn't sound like a great way to do it. If I decide to try something and don't like it, then I lose a ticket and I'm stuck with a big pour of something I don't like? Just curious about this because the main thing that has appealed to me about beer fests for the last 15 years is the ability to get small pour of many different beers, not 5 big pours and that's it.

yes you can buy more. dont get me wrong, they arent big pours but they are decent size. i think ive done 8 or 10 pours in the past. i think they are 6 or 7oz pours. also keep in mind that some beers will require more than one ticket.

Is that $45 for VIP entry ticket? I went to this fest 2 years ago and I think that was the VIP cost then. It was totally worth it to spend the extra bucks for an early admission (one hour?) because it was less crowded and you have quick access to the top beers. I was the only person both times that I walked up to the BCBS booth and was getting 6-8 oz. pours of it.

I think I got more than 5 tokens with my ticket, but could be wrong, and additional tokens are definitely available. Plus the musical groups were very good to add to the festivities.

i think VIP is $50 or $55 this year and they are sold out. its definitely a nice option though.
