My brother-in-law is headed to the Denver area this weekend and has offered to buy some beers for me. I'm wondering what he might find from Odell (large bottles), Funkwerks, and Crooked Stave. Any help is much appreciated. Also, if you have any suggestions for stores, that would be helpful too. Thanks!
Odell large bottles: Saboteur, Shenanigans, Footprint, and if he really scours the area it's possible there might be a Bourbon Barrel Stout around Funkwerks: Saison, White, Tropic King, Solstice (this is exclusive at Mile High Wine though), Dark Prophet, Helter Spelter, Brett Dream (highly recommended, this one is great) Crooked Stave: Not much left. He should be able to find Wild Wild Brett Yellow and a few places still have Surette and possibly a few bottles of Fertile Soil, though that would be a bit past its prime. But all the Wild Wild Brett Rouge, Green, and Orange is pretty much gone, unless he finds an off the beaten path place none of us know about. What part of town will he be in? This determines which stores to recommend, unless he's willing to drive all over the place.
He will be staying near the old airport where 270 meets 70. He is willing to drive a bit, but I wouldnt want to send him too far.
I don't know that part of town all that well, but that is not all that far from downtown, so Argonaut is within a reasonable distance. Also Mayfair Liquors is not far from there. And I have not been there, but The Grape Leaf in Stapleton is supposed to have a decent selection and is very close
grape expectations (23 and kearney) and mayfair (14th and krameria) will be the closest, mayfair having a bit more to offer though grape expectations will have the odell covered, also russian river such as supplication, etc.. just bought a couple of shenanigans there the other day. argonaut (colfax and clarkson) will be further into town but will have even larger selection.
