My son-in-law is in Pennsylvania, specifically Mechanicsburg, and has offered to bring some goodies home to Minnesota. Any good locals he should look for?? I like IPA's, stouts, really anything interesting. It's just fun to see what's going on in other parts of the country! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...Cheers!
Thanks for the suggestions, they all sound good. Last growler he brought me was Westbrook Gose, so hopefully he can find one that tasty this time
Have him check the Wegmans for any leftover Voodoo Big Black Voodoo Daddy- great stout, better with age!
BBVD is still on the shelves here at Wegmans in Malvern. Good stuff, but I like it fresh rather than aged. Troegs Perpetual is terrific, and now it's in cans! Have him bring you a 12 pack of cans. Also, a must try is the new Sly Fox Helles Lager in the open top cans. Very cool idea, awesome to drink and a solid beer too. Those are going to be staples in my fridge all summer long, no need for a glass!
Stopping by Al`s / Pizza Boy tomorrow. Do they bottle anything, or only do growler fills? Looks like an interesting spot.
'09 vintage won silver at GABF, but you can't go wrong either way! I work right down the street, will have to snag a few more bottles for myself/trade- love introducing folks to that beer. Sly Fox Helles in the 360 can is also a great call- IPA is being released at Citizens Bank Park tonight in the same can, with distro to follow shortly.
Had not heard that, awesome. I think Sly Fox needs to put all their canned beers in that format. Can you imagine Pikeland Pils or Grissette with the 360 can? Killer.
That was one of my first "wow" beers but I'm afraid as my palate grew, I lost interest. It's a full on palate wrecker though as I recall. He may be able to snag some Jai Alai out that way. Also, Sixpoint has distro there but not MN. Some Resin or Bengali would be good. Mechanicsburg is kind of in no man's land. They are too far away from both Philly and Pittsburgh to get the distro that either cities get.
