I am flying into Dulles in September and visiting some family in Fairfield. Just wondering if anyone could recommend any stops on the way from Dulles to Fairfield. Looking for either good places to eat, bottle shops, or breweries.

Not looking to venture too far from the interstate but willing to drive if there are some must stop places.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Cheers!

If you're coming from Dulles, 1st stop should be Lost Rhino in Ashburn, about 10 min from the airport. Making your way down 81 to Fairfield you can hit Devils Backbone Outpost (production brewery) in Lexington. Capital Alehouse in Harrisonburg and RedBeard Brewing in Staunton. Just visited RedBeard a few weeks ago. New nano with a nice tasting room and solid beers, plus Staunton is a really cool, historical old town with lots of restaurants and shopping. Right off 81.

Redbeard should have a Wet Hop Cascade Pale Ale, Oatmeal Milk Stout aged on Coffee Beans, Bravo Single Hop ESB, American Pale Ale, Black Rye IPA, and English Brown available in September. Plus maybe a few leftovers from August.
