I have a place in NC with 24 taps. Due to poor planning (or good luck because I get to rotate a LOT of taps at once), I had 6 kegs kick yesterday. So after browsing and browsing and browsing to try and find something that would really sell, I decided to come here and ask for suggestions! I'll list what I have below, and what I was thinking of putting on... at least what I had come up with to this point... Anyone in NC wanna help?!?

    Currently On Tap:
Left Hand Milk Stout *Nitro*, Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, Coronado/Cigar City Collab Jurata, Olde Hickory Death by Hops, Olde Hickory Piedmont Pilsner, Olde Hickory Table Rock Pale Ale, Green Flash Double Columbus IPA, Bells Two Hearted, Duck Rabbit Milk Stout, Fullers ESB, Highland Gaelic, Mother Earth Endless River, Smuttynose Old Brown Dog, Smuttynose Durty, Terrapin Mosaic, Rogue Shakespeare Stout, Foothills Seeing Double, Red Oak Big Oak,

    Looking At:
Lonerider Sweet Josie Brown, Green Flash Palate Wrecker, Doc's Draft Apple/Pear, Mother Earth Dark Cloud

I'm not in the area anymore, but I like that you carry local brews. I'm kind of surprised to see Smuttynose on tap. I have yet to find many fans of their offerings. I don't know how well the distribution in your region is set up, but I would look for more area breweries. Sierra Nevada and Oskar Blues are usually solid options. Thomas Creek, out of Greenville, SC, has an exceptional line up. Sweetwater and RJ Rockers are in the vicinity, as well. With Spring around the corner, I'd be looking at Bocks, also.

Believe it or not, Old Brown Dog actually sells really well here. Good ideas on the Sierra Nevada and Oskar Blues. Thanks for the input!

Nothing productive to add since I don't know NC at all, but I felt the need to compliment what you have going already. Your bar sounds awesome

I agree with going local, but I'm sure some of your patrons would enjoy trying non-local beers too, so I'd keep the mix of local/non-local. I'd definitely drink some of these if I was in your place (which is where BTW so we can drop by?)
    Great Lakes (OH) Edmund Fitzgerald
    Great Lakes Chillwave
NoDa (NC) Hop Drop & Roll
Westbrook (SC) One Claw Rye IPA
    Westbrook IPA
    Thirsty Dog (OH) Siberian Night

I would love to carry Great Lakes and NoDa, as well as OMB, but none of them make it this far up 77. Im in Statesville... Twisted Oak American Bar & Grill... You should stop by when you get a chance!

I'll second Foothills Jade. Palate Wrecker is always great. What about a Founders offering? Maybe FBS or Porter? Also, the first round of stuff brewed at Sierra Nevada's new facility in Asheville should be out or coming out soon...

Where are you located in NC? I know in Asheville people love to drink their local beer. I would keep a solid local presence while also incorporating a more diverse selection. You can't go wrong with Foothills Jade IPA.

If you can get it or are looking for a change, I would suggest the following Asheville Brews, Green Man ESB and Pisgah Brewings Red Lager, very drinkable and I prefer it to their Red Ale. Either would do well on tap. Not sure if the Red Lager is available though.

Just tossing out some Western NC brews.

Wicked Weed has recently expanded their distribution, we're getting a lot more of it here in Raleigh. I'd take most anything they're sending, considering it'd be a sixtel and pretty much a guaranteed sale.

We dont get Westbrook here (the one time we did was a mistake by Millenium). If Old brown Dog sells well, grab a keg of Carolina (Holly Springs) Nut Brown Ale or LoneRider Sweet Josie. Same style and local. Up that way, look at Olde Hickory and Pisgah. Both are solid except for Pisgah PA and OH Ruby Lager. Pretty local to where youre at, and solid beer. Im sure having more Foothills wouldnt hurt either. Cottonwood Endo IPA is terrible, but Carolina blonde and Strawberry actually arent bad either.Natty Greene's generally sells well, and their pub exclusives (like General Stout) are pretty solid.

You could theoretically go to NoDa and some of the other Charlotte breweries and pick up from them if you have time to do so. It would take some effort but would also give you something to draw customers in if you're the only place in town that does it.

My misunderstanding on Westbrook. On another thread it was discussed as being available in Charlotte, so I assumed it is distributed in NC. Maybe that's the "mistake" you refer to? The problem with Great Lakes might be the distributor not carrying it. It's available around Charlotte and also Raleigh so I don't see why you can't get it in Statesville.

Yeah, it's my understanding neither of them have distributors. I picked up some Hop Drop & Roll in Raleigh, but that's because the shop owner drove to Charlotte. Probably cost prohibitive for you. You might be able to get NoDa and/or OMB to do a tap takeover, however. NoDa did that in Raleigh in January, I think it was.

yep. Millenium had a few kegs of Table Beer, and everyone who saw it bought it on the spot. If Westbrook was entering, I dont think 4 kegs of Table Beer is how they'd do it.

Also, maybe try to get some newer NC breweries like Double Barley, Deep River, Raleigh Brewing, Trophy, etc.

Table Beer is actually not a proper Westbrook Beer apparently. It's made there, and has their name on it, but isn't their brand (confusing right?). It was done as a special project for a beer store in NY, and got distribution elsewhere as well through 12%.

Table Beer was also available in bottles because it was distributed by 12% from what I heard.
