I understand that you are specifically asking about sweet stouts, but allow me to offer this as a nice alternative - an aged Peche Mortel. Reason being, the coffee drops off enough at about 2 years or so as to let the sweetness come through a bit more but in a far more balanced fashion than something cloyingly sweet for the purpose of being sweet. This one may not move too quickly in some stores, so it's entirely possible that you could stumble upon one on a shelf that already has some age on it.

If it's straight from the bottling line sweet that you crave, set up a trade with someone who has access to Anastasia's Chocolate Fantasy from South Street Brewery in Charlottesville, VA. I'd help you myself but it seems as if they only sell this in Charlottesville (from what I can see) and I likely won't be there for a good while.

All of the above suggestions are great. ST is probably the best choice for sweet stouts unless you can happen upon a bottle of Big Luscious. I have heard ST is going to be doing a Choklat Oranj this year but haven't seen it yet. I also like Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. It is still sweet but not over the top. If you are looking for really sweet you may like http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/143/144286/ which is not a "typical stout." If you want to deviate a little from stouts Terrapin Liquid Bliss is also good but it is a Porter.

If you can get ahold of it-- Keegan Ales Mother's Milk Stout is very good. Carton Carton of Milk is also very good. Sam Adams Cream Stout is decent as well.

you don't have to go far from Choklat. Just get Southern Tier's Creme Brulee

Its not really sweet.. but night shifts el lechedor is an amazing milk stout. Its brewed with pablano peppers but the chocolate, vanilla, and sweetness completely remove any pepper notes.

Some barrel-aged stouts do have a lot of sweetness, but not all. I found Deth's Tar and The Abyss (with at least a year on it, but the longer the better) to have delicious bourbon/stout sweetness. Otherwise, everyone's suggestions on here are excellent.

Many have said it - ST Creme Brulee is the king of sweet when it comes to big stouts

What this guy said...if you want a sweet stout, then do whatever you can to get your hands on a bottle of dark lord (usually not that difficult, they make 20-30k bottles a year)
Dark lord makes Black Tuesday taste like dogfish head 120

    Hey Drel,

Where are you in MA? I may be able to point you in the direction of some good suggestions, depending on where you live.

My go to beer for chocolate sweetness is Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. Far and away the best chocolate taste I've ever tasted in beer.

Terrapin Cinnamon Roll'd WnB Oatmeal Stout is the sweetest stout that I've had. Too sweet for my taste actually. Moohoo is sweet too.

Although I don't believe this is a BA beer, this is one of my favorites. I find it in 4 or 6 packs from time to time, but don't recall the price off hand, but I know it is very affordable.

As some people have already said, if you want the absolute maximum sweetness, it's going to be Southern Tier Creme Brulee. It's so sweet i took too big a sip my first time trying it and i nearly choked haha. It's not bad in small doses, but good luck finishing 22oz without any help.

The regular version is quite good. And they did just release the BA version. Called imperial 72. really nice for a desert beer.
