I played in a golf outing yesterday and naturally the topic of beer was discussed. When I mentioned that I was interested in craft beer, the first question was "have you been to Captain Lawrence in Elmsford?" The questioner told me he lived near the old location in Pleasantville and went there on a lark and has been to the new location on a regular basis as well. This indicates to me that not only are people curious as to what craft beer is all about, they are embracing the local breweries with some local pride as well. A good thing to see.

A close friend of mine who swore he would never like any beer other than bud light actually tried a Duvel yesterday and loved it. He is now asking me to take him to a popular liquor store here and help him pick some stuff out. It's getting there.

I saw an old lady buying Dragon's Milk the other day. Yep, craft beer is clearly mainstream now. :astonished:

A road sign at a local pub reads "No crap on tap" God bless him.

Roman's Pub in Milwaukee (which has always been a great place) put this on their tap list:
"No spotted cow. Not now. Not ever."

A lot of people like going to pubs for the food and the "lightest beer you have". Then stock their fridge with Corona, Blue Moon, or Heineken.

Ummm...no, unless you are a cross dresser from Cali who buys beer in Illinois, then maybe.

Just had a conversation with a work colleague about nano-breweries in the area. We have a bunch of home brewers in my department and one guy who makes mead. We're gettin' it.

Opposing that is a store near my house advertising craft beer. They even have a Troegg's sign in the window. Unfortunately, it must be a ruse to suck people like me into the store... Not a decent brew on the shelves.

I like it in the can!

I just picked up a six-pack of Sly Fox Pikeland Pils.

    Cheers!
