Hey all, my wife and I are going to Cabo in a couple months (our hotel's right in between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo). I see a few different breweries on the map (Baja, Yenekamu, Sierra de la Laguna) ... other than those, does anyone here have any other fun beer stuff to recommend in Los Cabos?

In any case, I'll update this thread after our trip so other Cabo-goers have some more up-to-date advice (looks like the last post about the area was in 2017 :astonished:).

OK, my update! We are back from Cabo and I ended up just visiting those 3 places I mentioned originally.

The Baja Brewing location in San José (their main brewery) has a nice patio and a kind of sports bar feeling inside. The beers are mostly decent enough, certainly by the standards of craft beer in Mexico.

Sierra de la Laguna is also in San José, just a block away from Baja, so it’s easy to hit both. It’s an old but cleaned-up brick building that’s dim and cool inside, and with a few great spots out on the sidewalk. The beer’s not half bad, but the vibe was definitely my favorite of all the Cabo breweries — just super chill.

The best beer I had was at Yenekamu in Cabo San Lucas. It’s a little bit off the beaten path, but it’s not even a 5 minute cab ride from the heart of the tourist zone. Decently interesting taplist, solid beers, and friendly service.

I was also pleased to find that the grocery store we visited (the Soriana in San José) had a non-zero number of craft beer singles available. Not tons, but at least a few dozen, which meant I got to have craft room beers :+1::+1:

We walked by the Baja Brewing location in San Jose, but didn't stay because it was insanely busy. FYI, they do have a merch counter with a lot more items available than the Cabo location. Speaking of which, the location in Cabo can be difficult to find. It's on the rooftop patio of a hotel and the entrance/access to the elevators could use better signage. We walked by it a couple times until the owner of a shop on the same block noticed and escorted us up there. I got the feeling it's a common occurance and maybe he gets a little kickback for directing the tourists. The entire pub is open air, maybe 50/50 between under a roof and an open patio. The view of the harbor/beach is fantastic. A really great spot to kick back and enjoy the scenery.

I second the appreciation for Yenekamu. Yes, it's a bit out of the way, but still easy to walk to and the beer is quite good. You can walk from the tourist zone and stop at several legit taco shops (giant cones of al pastor sizzling in the windows) that cater to locals along the way. We also found a made to order churro cart, which made for a nice dessert snack once we got to Yenekamu.
