So I knocked a cap lose the other night in the cellar and some beer spewed but very very little before I capped it back on...
I most likely know the answer but was hoping someone had a similar experience and it was fine. Ie I still want to sit on this beer for a few years

Loose. And sitting on it for a few years is out of the question. I would think that beer spewing out = air getting in. I would drink this beer asap. I know this sucks but once the air hits it, oxidation will occur rapidly. What beer was it if you don't mind me asking?

100% as they said, the 'atmosphere' in the beer has been ruined. Sealing it again will not help.

I am sure it's tasty now anyway
