I am losing interest. Its getting more expensive, quality is hit and miss, and I am finding that sometimes drinking beer is more about the moment than the beverage in your hand.

Enjoy the good times with good people. You'll remember more of these than what you were drinking at the time.

The only thing I've lost interest in are hyped limited release chases, trading, and buying beer for cellaring. I'm very passionate about visiting taprooms at my local breweries and my local scene in general.

I've found myself enjoying 'brewed to style' beers much more often these days, especially if I happen to be at a bar. Also, I'm so tired of driving everywhere to get beer, I'm a hoarder member at The Bruery and come home with cases of beer that last me until I drive back to restock.

If it's something I really want to try, I'll just go to a tasting and hope someone brings something awesome.

I can figure out complete cessation of drinking beer, but not switching from craft and old good classics to macrocrap.

    Day job: No.
    Side gig: Yes.

I do consulting for distributors, bars/restaurants and the like to help train staff to increase craft beer knolwedge and sales.

I also teach private introduction to craft beer courses locally and take speaking engagements about beer. I also do private draft system design and install at residential locations. As well as providing cleaning and repair for private kegerators (draft system side only, someone else can deal with refrigeration).

Hopefully I will move it into a full time job someday, most likely after my Master Cicerone exam.

And it sure won't be in North Dakota.

I am slightly losing interest in the "craft" beer scene due to the year-over-year price increases. However, the place I'm really losing interest is dealing with the overwhelming number of people on this site, and in public, that subscribe to the, "I will never drink BMC, even if I have to choose between drinking my own piss and a Miller High Life" mantra.

I don't think I will ever lose all interest in craft beer because those are the beers I like to drink. Will I lose interest in chasing new beers instead of enjoying my favorites? Already have.

No , but my days of waiting in line in the summer heat or winter cold is gone. I won't do it. My days of driving to a dirt road in Greensboro Bend are getting close to over too, but if HT was as readily available as it was buying from the cannery I'd easily do it. But I'm not chasing 4 pks of beer 800 miles from home.

I do not know of any craft beer enthusiast who has lost interest for non health or financial reasons. As for myself, I feel that I'm in it for life. I will stop drinking craft beer when I'm dead.

I do hope my need to try everything ends sometime for financial reasons, but I don't see myself reverting back just to solely cheap beers. I just started cellaring beers, so we'll see how my interest changes over the next few years.

I have considered slowing down to focus on training (triathlons, and running), but I'm still in the post-student-athlete, don't-want-to-train-seriously-yet bubble.

Every now and then I try a Labatts which is what I drank forever. It tastes like someone put some grain in a bucket of water and left it out in the sun for a couple of days. I enjoy the taste of beer and cannot imagine going back the the old stuff.

Well, I'm certainly losing interest in the term "craft beer." It's just beer, IMHO.

    Precisely.
It all depends on one's definition of "craft" beer. If it means only drinking locally made products or only products made by smaller brewers, them yes...I'm over it.
If it means "good, well made beer" then no...I'll never lose interest.
The problem for me is that the designation "craft" is simply no longer synonymous with good beer. Theres a lot of both good and bad beer coming from both small brewers and big ones.

    Craft Beer, no. Culture yes.

I love the fact that there are tons of breweries popping up too. It's awesome.

    Drawbacks would be:

Younger breweries getting too adventurous, and making lousy beers in the name of answering to the current trends, with adjuncts, barrel-aging, etc.

The "hunt" lending itself to mark-ups, and raw Darwinian competition among snobs, enthusiasts, traders, hoarders, and folks who just want to try a certain beer.

If I were to become less interested in craft beer I would probably just not be reading about it or posting about it online. But I don't see myself never wanting a drink on the weekend. And because I don't enjoy other beverages I would always go for good beer. Just because it isn't something Im interested in to the point of a hobby doesn't mean I would ever want to drink things that taste bad.

No. But as a more experienced consumer now, I am less appealed by over the top, adjunct heavy, "big and bold" brews.

While I still prefer a good bottle of wine with a nice dinner, drinking craft beer is more of a hobby. There is almost an endless number of beers to try and I still really enjoy tasting new beer styles and offerings from my favorite brewers.

I don't think I'll ever completely lose my interest in craft beer. Things have definitely slowed down though. I was never one to chase trucks or trade but I did go to releases and pretty religiously got a least a mix a six weekly. Now it's maybe 2-3 drinks a week and I just pick up solid offerings from the grocery store.
