Four year old Angel's Share was awesome.

I loved the event. Got my money's worth. I drank at least $30 worth of Cuvee, FdA, and RP alone at the bar. So with that and the 1 bottle of 011 - already @ $65. $35 for the food and pairings was fair!

Oh - and Track 10 was still there. You have to pay for it of course though.

Happy Birthday! I never mind going anywhere by myself, that just frees you up to befriend strangers! Cool that 2 of you will be meeting up there, though :-)

Was the '08 Brandy Angel's Share the infamous flat batch (well the 1st one anyway)? If so, somewhat ironic that it became excellent.

Lines were fast for us. But we didn't run over to the lines right when they formed.

Best barrel party since the one in 2008 (The one with Veritas 004).

Lots of room for improvement here but I did have a good time.

So they poured Track 12, but not Track 11?

Did they say what Track 12 was? If not, any speculation on the base beer or blend?

They had detailed notes on each beer, unfortunately I walked out without getting a copy at the door. Hopefully they'll be available online. Looking at the picture I took on my phone it says it's a blend of 3 beers and 4 barrels. Only beer specifically mentioned in the notes is Sputnik, which was another beer that they served at the dinner. It's tasting notes indicated that it's a beer designed for blending.

Pretty cool event. Good beers, good food. I felt a few of the beer/food pairings didn't really work, but overall everything was well done.

Veritas 011 is actually quite good. It's a bit sweet, but the nectarines come through nicely. Should dry out a bit with some age on it, but definitely worth trying fresh.

Did we actually taste Veritas 011 or just one of the component barrels?

Track 12, according to one of the brewers, was Avant Garde aged in a foeder then blended with Mellow Yellow. I hope this wasn't confidential info...

I think most people did, unless you missed it. It was the intermezzo paired with sorbet.
