I can't believe noone is recommending a Lost Abbey Bottleshare at Lost Abbey for their EPIC Ultimate Box Set release next Saturday. Because of this, I decided to call and e-mail the necessary people and get permission to plan an epic bottleshare (if I misunderstood, they'll likely let me know). The only requirement was that we be respectful and only bring Lost Abbey/Port rarities (no problem). :-)

I don't know if enough people are interested in this, thus the reason for the post.
If I can get 10 or more people, its a go.

The goal is to one up the DC bottleshares we've all heard about (c'mon, we're IN Socal...we should have more BAs with these beers than people on the other side of the country).

BM (or post) what you can bring:: Cable Car, Duck Duck Gooze, Veritas, Isabelle Proximus, Yellow Bus, Sinner's Blend, Angel's Share Grand Cru, Churchill's Finest Hour, Mother of All Beers, etc. (if I missed something else that is worthy of this epic event, post it). Goal is to have at least 10 people bringing one or more of the above.
If only a few people are intrested, BM me and we'll just meet up for our own thing.

Cheers to Tomme Arthur and his crew for bringing such wonderful beers into our lives.

Has the Lost Abbey contacted anyone else yet about specific pick-up times? ...still waiting for my phone call... I've been billed.

Has anyone opened a bottle of this recently that was actually drinkable?

I seem to recall Lost Abbey shying away from letting people open bottles at the brewery.

There was an issue recently about opening bottles at a local brewery that has put all the other ones on high alert. But in the case of Lost Abbey, it might be okay as long as it's their own beer.

    What was the issue?

The policy I heard from Lost Abbey was that since they are not a bar or restaurant, they do not have an alcohol license that covers "corkage" and allowing people to bring in beers that are not made there. Don't want to speak for them, but I'm guessing if they'll allow for a bottle share, it would *only* extend to bottles of Lost Abbey/Port Brewing beer... Which it sounds like was the plan here anyway.

If they'd just put on some good beers, we wouldn't have to do a bottle share.

JK I love me some of dat Red Barn~

I don't have one, but other candidates would surely be Woody Brune and pre-Lost Abbey Cuvée de Tomme.

All good points regarding the rules for bottleshares.
It is 100% correct that I was told "ONLY LOST ABBEY/PORT BEERS"!!! (which was posted as follows to ensure no confusion "The only requirement was that we be respectful and only bring Lost Abbey/Port rarities (no problem)."
I am bringing a 2009 Cable Car (personally, my favorite in my cellar). I have also received BMs for the following (though not confirmed until posted publicly: DDG, ASGC, Sinners, V009, and CFH.
Would love to know what everyone else can bring. Goal is to hype this up and make it one EPIC LOST ABBEY BOTTLESHARE.

I had my last one about a year ago and it was a complete drain pour. So sad because it was awesome fresh. Should have drank it then.

I got an email saying that they would hold them until December 16th. That email offered up an additional set too. Contemplating it..

Same here, loved the beer fresh, but all ones within the past 1.5 years have been somewhere between drain-pour and "kind of interesting sour".

Edit: So people don't have to dig through previous posts, I'm talking about Angels Share Grand Cru. The post I quoted didn't mention that or directly quote a post that said that, could get confusing this far down the thread.
