In my quest to get Cable Car, Isabelle Proximus, and Duck Duck Gooze, I have seen some inconsistency and differing opinions of the order of rarity. From the posts I have seen, DDG seems to be offered up for trade much more than the other two, and is typically used in combination with something else to get even rarer beers, where at least CC would be 1:1. This leads me to believe, it is the least rare of the 3. In my opinion, CC would be the hardest to get, then Izzy, then DDG. Am I off in my assumption? I ask, because the people I have spoken to, with DDG try to say it has equal trading power of the other two. As for IZZY...would that be similar to CC? Finally, what "level" or "tier" of beers would it take to get DDG or IZZY 1:1? Could a Combo including something like Rare or BA Behemoth, plus something a little less rare, like DL '12 get it done? I recently put up a ISO, offering a combo of the following beers, with No hits, which honestly suprised me. GI Bourbon County Rare FFF BA Behemoth Bell’s Wild One Cigar City Hunahpu’s FFF Dark Lord ’12 Hoppin Frog BA Naked Evil Westy 12 Flossmoor Station BA Imperial Schwartz Jackie O’s Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition Sour Bitch And yes, I know "rare" was used a lot in this post, but for a lack of a better word.
Cable Car is made for consumption only at Toronado in SF. It's only offered for trade if a bottle has somehow been smuggled out.
In trading, 1+1+1 does not = 3. You can't trade up unless you're offering quantity over rarity. You could get a DDG with a combo of those beers, but you probably wouldn't like the number of them it would take.
No Rare OR BA Behemoth and DL'12 will probably not get you a DDG. Maybe if you offered all 3. It would take an even more ridiculous combination to get Izzy or CC. LA as other great sours that are not as hard to get. You'd get a better deal trading for one of those.
I have had a lot of the others. These are the ones I'm after, because I haven't tried them. I actually did get a Cable Car in a recent trade, and it was pretty reasonable. I also know the limitations of each bottle. My main question here, is, whether or not DDG, IZZY, and Cabke Car are if equal value, if not, what order would you place their rarity?
I traded an 09 CC For a DDG about a year ago. I guess like every other trade, it comes down to finding the right person. Things get more amorphous when beers get more and more rare I suppose.
