Was this re-released? Just saw in a store and not sure if it's an anomaly or what.. or how fresh the coffee will be grazi
been finding bottles for a few weeks now. Its still drinking pretty damn tasty. Anyone else going to try and cellar any? I've got two bottles i'm sitting on and debating if I should drink or age.
I wouldn't go too long with the aging. That coffee will fade away. I have some 3 and 4 year old KBS and they suck now. I also like heat, so maybe I'm not the best resource on this. Felt the beer was good, but def not worth the $15 I dropped on it.
going to threadshit my own thread. had this on tap and bottle recently and was pretty disappointed. no coffee aroma. not much barrel character. am i alone in this observation?
When I tried it maybe a month ago (on tap at the brewery) there was a lot of coffee but very little barrel.
I was disappointed too. Bought 2 bottles thinking I would age one. Wish I had spent that money on more track 8 instead
I had it on tap at a local bar a few weeks ago, and I mostly agree with BreweryRun. Plenty of coffee and more subtle barrel notes, very smooth overall. I enjoyed it, but it's not going to blow you away, and obviously it's pricey. I bought a bottle anyway, but haven't opened it yet. I didn't have the original release, so I have no idea how it compares to that.
I thought it was good when I had it. Though, I know someone who had it a couple times and had noticeably different opinions on each tasting.
