If we are going to complain about price point I pose the challenge to find the last veritas bottle that wasn't $41. I think ddg b1 was $30 so some time after that but I really can't remember.

It's that whole gotta pay to play. It sucks, and I only slightly hate money. I love berries enough that I will throw money away again.

I was already planning on being there on the 24th... something to ponder as a birthday present to myself.

Thanks Xul, I actually skipped V011 because I am not a barleywine fan so I basically paid no attention to it. Thanks.

I would personally say DeGarde, but in terms of availability it is tough.

Chenmen, I have yet to have a bad bottle of de Garde. This weekend I had Tres Grand Blanc and it was incredible. Those bottles could be sold for so much more compared to a lot of the stuff that is out there.

If it was even money, I'd bet on de Garde every time.

If I remember correctly, their first 2 shelf beers were close to that price. In general, though, they start at $8 and go up modestly from there.

I've been drinking Veritas since 012 and it's become kind of a tradition for me to track one down. I'm very excited to try V017 w/ blackberries. Over priced? Yeah but I'm just really look forward to trying this one. I've spent more on bottles of wine that I didn't enjoy so this is a no brainer. Whether you agree or not, I put Veritas on a bit of a pedestal. I really respect the quality Lost Abbey produces with the Veritas line. Now the real question is when are we going to see the Duck again?

I'm a big fan of blackberry sours, but I think I'm over the $41 Veritas's. Too many great sours out there for much less that have just as good quality.

And I can't believe I just wrote that. I suppose my quest for a neverending cellar has just ended.

This is how I feel as well. And I think the rumor was DDG sometime this year, right?

Tomme was pretty certain DDG would release this year when he was on the BN Sour Hour.

My big problem is the pickup window. For that price they should give you at least 2 weeks to pick up. If you get me for $41 a bottle, work with me a little, eh??
