Any Rochester BA's have info on this new brewery? Looks like they will be occupying property with Sticky Lips BBQ.
Googled this after your post . Did see a blurb on channel 8 news yesterday Who We Are The Lost Borough Brewing Company is the realization of a dream for two life long friends - Dave Finger and Dan Western - in search of the perfect pint of craft beer. After years of experimentation with all styles of artisan beers, we have decided to leave our mark by opening a local brewery where we can share our passion with others while providing a truly different craft beer experience. Where did the name come from? Picking the right name for any business is never easy. Nowhere is this more true than in the world of brewing. Pick the most random name you can think of and it likely already exists as a brewery in some small corner of the globe. We spent months toying with different ideas and word-smithing combinations. In the end, we decided to reference our home city, paying homage to the great beer history of Rochester. As we delved further into Rochester’s humble beginnings, we finally stumbled upon a passage of old nicknames the city was known as in its early years. Among the list of names were "The Flour City”, “Young Lion of the West” and finally, "The Lost Borough”. When will you open? We plan to open in summer of 2014. Many are unaware that opening a professional brewery takes a lot more than picking a name, perfecting a recipe and putting out a sign. Breweries are among the most highly regulated of all businesses in the country, making the required paperwork and regulatory process crucial. While we’re waiting to hear back for the necessary approval, stay tuned on social media for updates. Where will you be located? Our location will be within the city limits. Rochester is a good sized city with a lot of suburbs. We want to be sure that we are centrally located and just a short drive from anywhere. We are currently working out the details for our space and will be announcing our specific location shortly. What kinds of beer will you sell? Our passion is for beer of all kinds, but we hope to differentiate ourselves by not being afraid to brew something different. Naturally, we will always brew our signature beers, such as our Park Ave Pale Ale, Hopchester IPA, Highland “Hefer” and Brown Bothers Brown. But the real fun comes in the form of our seasonal beers, such as our LBBC Pumpkin Ale, Oktoberfest, Belgian Patersbier, Kolsch, Amber Ale, Scotch Ale, Chocolate Stout, Cranberry Wheat, Peanut Butter Porter, Gingerbread Ale and many more. If you can think of it, we can brew it. Will you serve pints too? We sure will. Not only will we offer growler refills and full tastings, but we will also serve pints of our delicious brews, as well as offer a variety of Lost Borough gear. How can I get involved? Over the coming months we'll be constructing the bar, building the brewing system and working hard to tweak our signature recipes while waiting for government approval to sell. As you can imagine, brewing premium craft beer requires a hefty capital expense. While we ourselves are completely invested in constructing the space, building the bar and purchasing equipment, we will humbly be seeking additional support to upgrade to a larger brewing system via a crowdsourcing campaign on Kickstarter. We even have some cool Lost Borough Gear we can send your way for helping the cause. You can donate here starting February 14th. For now, stay in touch via social media: Facebook • Twitter • Instagram
