Anybody know why were not getting full catalogs of certain breweries? Flying dog has cut back drastically...no raging bitch, or horndog, or k9 just to name a few. Also green flash palate wrecker I was really looking forward to after getting some in Nashville, but havent seen it. Anybody got a clue as to why?
I never saw palate wrecker in Kentucky. It felt like we were the only state with GF distribution that didn't get it. I also never saw Dogfish 75 min here in Lexington. Lots of stuff is available to the state that doesn't make it to the shelf (HeBrew, for instance. Heavy Seas). Sometimes Louisville gets what we don't in terms of imports. We don't get in Lexington, for instance, any 12 Percent distributed beers. Some of it might be capacity, or some retail simply doesn't order the beers (see Liquor Barn who, in some places in Lexington, still hasn't cleared out 3 year old stock).
the distributor that carries green flash just got bought out by another distributor so things are in limbo right now.
We've seen a drop in Flying Dog beers in Indiana over the last year, but it seems like it is starting to open back up. We were able to get Horn Dog this past season, and we've actually starting getting six packs of Gonzo Porter (up from the old 4 pack) in the past couple of weeks. Apparently Double Dog made a comeback, but sold out before we could get any. Hopefully that means that everyone will start to see more of their higher end beers again.
