Love/Hate Brewery?

Toppling Goliath and Three Floyds, enjoyed pretty much everything I've had from both but can't stand how difficult it is to get either. And I live in Iowa, I've seen people taking as many bombers of Pseudosue to the counter as they could carry.

 

You could buy stock in the company. That might help you feel better...

 

Had sculpin five times and was underwhelmed, then I had it on draft. What a fantastic beer!

I am guessing it was fresh and taken care of unlike my bottles.

 

So Dogfish Head is the Mark McGwire of beer.

 

Love pretty much everything i have had from Cigar City, except their IPAs and Pale ales.

Love: All their beers are fantastic

Hate: Their prices! It has become a luxury beer brand for me, unfortunately.

 

Lagunitas for me, love almost anything I've tried from them.
But really dislike hairry eyeball and censored.

 

My "love/hate" breweries are Brouwerij De Molen and Brouwerij 't IJ.

 

This! But, I'll add that I am grateful DFH is the kind of brewery that will take risks.

 

My heart aches for that poor dead beer. Please refrain from further alcohol abuse and send all remaining Palo Santo to me for proper disposal.

Dogfish Head and Southern Tier. Some of their stuff I love and some I find to be cloyingly sweet messes.

 

Are you saying Sam is taking PEDs so DFH can hit more homeruns?

 

New Belgium. I hate Fat Tire - it has a weird, earthy character to it that I dislike. Several other of their earlier offerings have the same character, leading me to believe it is something about their house yeast. And yet ever since Ranger came out, I have been enjoying their newer beers quite a bit - Ranger, Rampant, Accumulation, Tour de Fall are all beers I come back to frequently. And yet, I still dislike Fat Tire.

 

Smuttynose. I love Finest Kind and Robust Porter. The rest of their line-up is kind of underwhelming to me.

 

Pipeworks because it's a pain to find unless you go to the few places that are known to have it. They do their own distribution so a lot of small liquor stores that aren't right in the city can't get it.

Do you live close to a Binnys?

 

The closest one is maybe 30 minutes away and it's definitely somewhere I don't want to have to drive to after work. There is a liquor store that caries a nice selection of craft beer that I try to support store 2 blocks from where I live and they tried to get on their distribution list and can't even get their calls returned. There is another liquor store about a mile away from me and they used to get it and they can't anymore so things are getting worse.
