I forgot about Devil Dancer. I thought it smelled/tasted like gym socks. My buddy and I figured it was some type of infection. Sounds like it wasn't

I was surprised when I learned that a lot of people hate Cherry Wheat. It's one of my favorite beers. It's never "Gee, I just didn't get into this one," either, but full on "Sam Adams Cherry Wheat killed my dog and punched my grandpa and now I will enact brutal vigilante justice upon it."

Couldn't agree more. I love Vanilla, I love beer... figured that i would have loved it... Couldn't finish the bottle. Didn't enjoy anything about it.

World Wide Stout. I'm in the negative camp on that one, but many seem to love it.

The end of that review cracked me up; well done.

I liked it but I can understand why someone might not care for it. Mine was bottled in 2011 and was a total booze bomb. Kind of a like an imperial stout with liquor added.

Question about Devil Dancer. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1199/17538. If its only 112 ibu, how does it calculate to over 200?

This is what I came to post. I can honestly say this is the only beer I've ever hated. With nearly every other beer I do not like I can understand why someone would. But with Pumking, I just don't get it. I know so many people who really love the beer though.

I do not know why, but i dislike any beer with a coriander taste. Blue moon...ANYTHING by unibroue. (thus far)
I almost had to drain pour a trios pistoles, almost.

Some people have addictions to cough syrup. To each his own.

Edit: I never had a dog, but my grandpa's rib is still broken from that stuff.

Stone 11.11.11 for one: I had it tonight and though it was incredible, most of the ratings state otherwise. Fantastic balance and no heat from the chilies.

Also Dogfish Head's Ancient ales. A ton of hate ratings on here, but I have enjoyed every single one(none of them blew my hair back, but they really nailed them in my opinion)

So in other words, you don't like most of Southern Tier's beers? :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a year old Jahva last week and I thought it was very good. I don't care for any of the rest of their stouts though.

Shared Reyon Vert with some BA friends and they either loved it or hated it. I really enjoyed it, but others found it to have a band aid like taste and aroma. How they know what band aids taste like is anyone's guess.

I love Southern Tier Creme Brulee but understand why it's polarizing (the crazy sweetness). Also love Avery's Rumpkin and have a harder time understanding why some hate it. I recall some complaining it lacks drinkability. Well, they knew the ABV going into the experience. What's wrong with sippability?!

Band-aid is a known off flavor in beer, it is more an aroma than an actual taste.
