For me it's anything Victory and Sixpoint. They were major part of my craft rotation, and then they merged with Southern Tier, and everything went downhill. Quality, variety, and innovation all dropped off. I'm sure that the fact that I'm geographically closest to ST plays a role in that, but distribution of the other two pretty much dried up in my immediate vicinity within the past few years outside of some undesirable mix packs, so I can't even reasonably compare anything to check.
I'm on my second 12 pack and am enjoying it this year, probably in the 'very good' range for me. Either last year or the year before was 'amazing', so it stays in my rotation . I always find it hop forward for a big amber ale; but the malt is always present too. If it's my first beer of the session it comes off more aromatic to me. This year definitely has plenty of bitterness to cut through the malt, but the amazing years do tend to be more aromatic.
I can't disagree with anything there. I actually picked up a Resin recently out of curiosity but it was seriously not the same beer. But...the return of Storm King has me a very happy camper. I don't exactly think they nailed it, but it's close enough to scratch that itch and then some.
