It's no longer available in the USA. I know it's brewed under license by Labatt and available in Ontario but I haven't seen it in Quebec. Does anyone know any retailers that sell it in Quebec? I will be coming up from the USA crossing at Derby VT into Stanstead and would hope to find some before Montreal.
I called around to a few Metros and they do not carry it. I also tried several IGA stores. I cant find it anywhere in Quebec!
I see it at my neighborhood IGA every time I am there. You can definitely find it. Not sure about outside of Montreal, though.
Don't even bother with the Labatt brewed version. It bears little or no resemblance to the Munich brewed Löwenbrau.
I found what i was looking for at a Tradition store in Stanstead and Ayer's Cliff. I picked up approx a case from each location this weekend.
So, I'm seeing that Lowenbrau is still avaliable in the US. I've had several people ask me if we carry it...I've never seen it in North or South Carolina (to be honest, I wasn't looking for it when I lived in NC)
It's still available in the US, at least the helles is (and it is still a great beer). But I haven't seen the Dunkel or the Festbier in quite a long time (and the Maerzen hasn't been around since the mid '70s...that one was a real gem).
