(For the record, I do dig the underground/dank pit vibe.)

I liked the vibe too for 2 mins, until the too-cool-for-school hipster bartender ignored you for 5 minutes & then sneered when you didn’t order the most expensive/obscure tap at the time. Seriously - screw that place, I’m glad it’s gone.

I don’t mind dank pits. But I hate dark bars. I need light.

For example I love Redbones, hate Underbones.

Can a bar be dank and well lit?

I think that place is pretty dark. It’s underground after all

I just need a window of some sort with outside light getting in.

The one time I went to Lower Depths they had the door open to the outside, so it wasn't that dark.

But yeah, generally no, a bar can't be a dank and well lit.

I think it's some kind of primal lizard brain thing but I really do feel more comfortable in a bar when it feels a little bit like a cave. You know, a place where predators won't spot me as easily.

Yeah yeah people love their Underbones.

I need light. There's a reason beer gardens are extremely popular in Boston.

And breweries with outdoor drinking areas.

Ironically, I HATE the dining area upstairs at Redbones. I just like the bar itself upstairs.

...but will I still get my mug filled for pint prices?

UPDATE: A new place called The Kenmore could be replacing a popular beer bar that closed earlier this summer. https://t.co/kt0oTiE5Nf
