Hey, I have a LP Gueuze 2008 sticker and I was wondering what the trade value on that beer is. I really have no idea because I see some LP kriek ISOs but not as many Gueuze. Also, I'm far from an expert on trade value of Cantillon. Help?

Figure about the same as a 2010 LP kriek I think

Gueuze is the rarest of the Lou Pepe's, I believe, so I'd expect it to trade higher than a similar age LPK. Although, maybe the Kriek tastes better?

I've heard people say that but I tried for weeks to trade LP gueze for LP Framboise and didn't get a single 1:1 offer

Probably because unless you really want LP-G badly (and have LP-F available to trade) it isn't worth the shipping/hassle for a single bottle. I know if you were local I'd do it 1:1 no problem.

Thanks for your input. But as far as stouts go, what would be and even trade for it (just a single bottle stout).

    Dunno, maybe DBH-ish?

No way. LPG is not even close to DBHuna 1:1...I wish it was. I'd make that trade in two seconds if I could...

And, yet, there's way more DBH getting traded around than LPG...

Historically, LPG trades a little under FF. I think it's one of those beers, though, that pops up so infrequently that it doesn't really get the awareness / hype of other beers which are actually easier to come by.

I agree with you @kscaldef that is probably should trade on that level considering it's rarity and low production count. But sadly, the DBH hype is way too strong for LPG to even get the time of day.

Totally agree with you guys, it probably SHOULD trade at that level, but there's just no way it'd pull a DB Huna at this point...

Do you think it would pull an Assassin? Assassin seems to be in the dark a little since the KBBS release is taking over the hype.

Not even close... DB Huna and Assassin and BA Abraxas have been trading 1:1 (generally)...

Yea, I saw that but I thought maybe that hype train might be over because of the KBBS release. Maybe I should just drink it.

I hear you, but I've done plenty of trades that started as a 1:1 base and we expanded to make it worthwhile. I'll let you know next time I'm in Manitoba

OP, stout wise, probably trades close to the Cherry Rye level

It's a great beer! You should! If you're really looking for stouts in trade, I'm sure it'd pull most anything else... but those 2 you're looking for are just really tough to land!

This exactly I've seen so many trades asking for LPK or LPF and offering LPG not get done. LPG might be more rare, but from a taste stand point most people prefer LPF & LPK myself included. All Lou Pepe's are good, but the difference once again from a taste stand point for the fruited versions is pretty large IMO.

I've traded LPG 1:1 for LPF several times. Every time I've posted, I received no less than a half dozen BMs.

I know we aren't talking vintage LPG, but had a whale tasting recently and an '01 LPG was a highlight amongst beers like brabantiae, Blauw, framboos, b1 hommage, crianza, blabaer etc. I haven't had enough to know when exactly, and I definitely agree with everyone concerning these beers fresh; I prefer the fruit, BUT LPG definitely hits a crazy delicious peak with age. @jmu500 @rowingbrewer @mkabull can all attest to the greatness of vintage LPG

I hear people say this, and it's not that I don't believe you, it's just that my experience was so completely different things must have changed at some point

I was offering to add on nice bottles too and got crickets. ended up trading for de garde bottles instead, I think I'm better off anyways
