    Good ole Lubbock.

Alamo Drafthouse and Crafthouse maybe the best two places in town to drink beer. There is a World of Beer that is alright, I have seen some random things on tap that surprised me.

Buying beer? Probably just the Spec's.

The problem with Lubbock is that they just have shitty distribution.

Thanks for the heads up. So no brewery at all?

Triple J is the only one currently I believe (brewpub). I saw The Plains Brew Co got license, but no idea if they opened or not.

Triple J's is the only one you can go to for sure. I actually went there a month or two ago and they had a bigger selection than any other time I had been there. But, do not expect anything ground breaking or any massive rotation. Just standard beer that is relatively cheap.

Has Triple J's improved their maintenance? I went there my first time in Lubbock about 7 years ago and I tried as many of their beers as I could and all of them tasted really moldy. Granted so did the other bars I went to.
In the last year or two I was back in Lubbock for a few hours but had a couple of beers at one bar and it did taste like they had cleaned their lines fairly recently so I was happier.

I hope that the bars there have learned or care about maintenance now.

Probably depends on the bar. I would assume the World of Beer , Alamo Drafthouse, and Crafthouse do. As for other places? Who knows.

I'm a Tech student and have done some looking around and found that both of the Eskimo Huts here have a great selection of pretty rare craft brews. The guy who runs them is a real cool guy who will talk beer with you all day. Has a bunch (I think 10 beers) on tap for growler fills at a time, he goes all around Texas and brings back kegs (has Hi Res, Backwoods Bastard, Raspberry Temptress etc on tap right now) that are hard to find anywhere else. He also makes his own mixed packs from each brewery so you can try lots of different beers from a brewery for a price of a sixer. Got to ask him what he has stashed in the back.. picked up some Bourbon Barrel Temptress and BA Bible Belt not too long ago.

    Hope this helps!

    Wow... Eskimo Hut huh?

I've only heard of them from friends who want to get drunk while driving around. Drive through rum based cocktails in plastic cups that could be anything...

I had no idea there were locations with decent beer.

Haha right? I thought it was just a girly slush place where you pay 12$ for a daiquiri. Saw them post something on Facebook and decided to check it out. I go there instead of specs for stuff now.
