I am heading up to Ludlow area from Sunday to Tuesday. I was wondering what are some good bars/restaurants, package stores and somewhat close breweries worth checking out. Is heady in the area at all or at least a 2 hour drive away?

    No Heady in the area.

Toms Loft at the base of Okemo will have Fiddlehead.

Beverage Brewfest is the best bottle shop around. 3 taps for growler fills.

    Food:
Goodmans Pizza is the best in town hands down, they have decent taps too.

Mojo is a great Mexican place. Good taps there too.

Avoid Outback at all costs unless you are 22 and want to party food is no good.

Long Trail Brewey is a half hour away and they have great food. Sometimes they pour experimental stuff too.

The irish bar at the base of okemo (The Killarney) has surprisingly good food. Beverage brewfest usually has Backacre available (2 per person) and has a good assortment including Allagash. Also, less than 30 minutes away in Jamacia, VT is Meulman's Craft Draughts that usually has an updated list of what they have on beermenus.com and Manchester VT which is about 45 minutes to an hour away has really good restaurants.

Woodstock isn't very far from ludlow, maybe 30-40 minutes and close to long trail. hops and barley in woodstock gets sip (if it is still every other monday that means you might miss it, they got a few cases on the 11th) and worthy kitchen is right next door where you can drink stuff from hill farmstead and other great breweries, amazing food and cool staff also.

Drive 20 min south and hit the Pizza Stone in Chester. Great pizza and tap list is very good. Great Vt vibe as well.

another vote for Pizza Stone. Also Meditrina Wine & Cheese in Chester has a great selection and also gets Backacre.
