We are staying in Harrisonburg, VA (Lurayish area) this weekend. Anything I have to do? Nice to do? Do not do?

Several decent bottle shops around town itself, all of which are in the directory.
Capital Alehouse has a newish location on town square and you're sure to find a good crowd there.
Take a drive to Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton (45 min), Wild Wolf in Nellysford (farther) or Devil's Backbone (even farther).
    Do not feed the bulldogs.

Jack Brown's is an absolute must every time I pass through. Solid bottle selection, great atmosphere and food. Billy Jack's is owned by the same guys - more draft beers, more food variety, right next door, just as worthy. Haven't done Capital Alehouse yet because I can't get past these two places...

Foodwise - Joshua Wilton House can't be beat (if you want to open up the wallet a bit)

Thanks. We were going to hit Blue Mountain based on the DC Beefest samples. I will add Jack Browns and Capital Ale

I'm a JMU alum, frequent visitor to the burg, and had my wedding reception at Joshua Wilton House. Agree with everything said above, and i'd also highly recommend a few other things all in walking distance (~10 min) from jack brown's, especially Kline's Diary Bar for ice cream. For bottle shops theres a small market/jiffy store, midtowne market, 20 W. Water St. which has a small but surprisingly pretty good selection. I dont think its on BA. Downtown wine and gourmet is good and IS on BA. If you're an adventurous eater, go to the indian american cafe downtown. Delicious food, but seriously spicy.

JMU alum as well. Huge agreement on Jack Browns, I love that place. Dont be fooled by the mountains of Natty cans that litter Port Republic, Harrisonburg actually has a pretty decent craft presence, especially with the recent addition of Cap.

Theres also a brewery in Staunton about 30 mins or so from hburg called Queen City. I have not been but I have heard it is pretty good. Also +1 on Blue Mountain, totally worth the trip. Crowded as hell, service is piss poor but.....the beer is amazing.

Sorry, we were so tired and hungover and then I was working all week.

We hit Jack Browns, Capital Ale (only two customers, had very interesting conversation with the staff about beers), and Billy Jacks. All great. The bottle selection at the little places were great, but i would live at the Capitol Ale bar for the drafts. My wife hit some of the little fancy stores, some were good, some of the women staff were bitchy.

We decided to skip the local brewers and hit Rhino on the way back for their beerfest after a cavern tour stop. Sobered up enough to drive after some good sausages and really bad potato salad and okay bands. There were some really good taps and guest taps. The cask beers were simply great.

Had Monday off so I reloaded Sunday night and got over it the next day
