In Lynchburg for 3 days, staying downtown w/o a car, at the Holiday Inn. What's the best place to go for local/regional craft beer? I saw a few reviews of a couple places here, but they are older, nothing newer. I don't mind walking a mile to go somewhere good if it's worth it.

Walked down to Bull Branch. Had only 3 beers on tap, but it was PBR, Bent Mountain IPA, and Blue Mountain BB Dark Hollow. Interesting little place.

I'm from lynchburg, unfortunately you're in Jerry Fallwellville so anything fun out there is slim pickins. Ned's beer & wine on Rivermont is going to be your only bottle shop option, and then Waterstone pizza brews their own stuff. A recommendation non-brew related, late night snack check out the T room if you can after you've had a few. Enjoy the visit, cheers.

My wife's folks live in Madison Heights, just outside of Lynchburg, so I spend a fair bit of time there. Unfortunately, as HopHeadCnK says, there just ain't much there. Ned's Beer store is actually located inside of Rivermont Pizza (took me awhile to find). It's small, but has some good stuff. Rivermont Pizza itself actually has the best taplist I've found in Lynchburg - 20 or so decent craft selections (Founders, Bell's, etc.).

Apocalypse Ale Works opened up in Forest recently just outside of Lynchburg, and I was able to try a couple of their beers at the Poplar Forest tasting last week. They were pretty tasty. Everything's going to be a drive though.
