MA Bourbon County Release (2018)

Anyone hear of any variants in Boston or the south shore tomorrow?

 

Case of the regular and one each of coffee, barley wine and northwoods at total wine Everett.
Passed on the northwoods.

 

What prices are people seeing for Northwoods? Saw $25 in one shop.

 

Mine was $26

Were there a lot of people there at open? I'm at the Darkling release and hoping for Northwoods since I missed out earlier.

 

Anyone know of any Western Mass allocation?

 

I got there at 7.35 and was 3rd in line. At 8am opening there were maybe 20 people. There looked to be 4 cases stacked up behind the register. 1 pp $25. Same amount of Coffee and Barley wine

 

Dions waltham has 1pp reg and barley. Ball square had 2 pp reg and 1 pp barley, all of worcester area isn't getting shipments until tomorrow. Distro truck broke down on the way to all the shops.

 

Seems like the big stores got allocations of variants while smaller craft store got shut out. Assume distribution was based on Goose Island or ABI sales during the year, but who knows...

 

10:15 am update. Out of coffee before i got here. I️ got the last northwoods. Lots of barley wine and regular.

 

Seemed like there was nothing out here this year. Heard from one of my local shops that all the variants went to Total Wine and the smaller craft places got shut out of almost everything. I’m up in northern MA.

 

I also swung by Total Wine in Danvers this morning hoping to grab some vartiants for a friend. They has next to nothing. No Northwoods, no Barleywine, just 2 cases of coffee

 

Downtown Wine & Spirits has/had BCBS and BCBBW. In typical Downtown Wine & Spirits fashion they have them behind the counter and they're overcharging.

 

Depot Liquors in Beverly got 2 cases of 2017 regular, and a couple bottles of 16, 15, 14.

 

I owe you big time. Missed out on Northwoods earlier today and happened to be at Day of Darkling when I saw your post, so I swung by Total Wine and grabbed that, BW and the last coffee. So clutch.

 

Eastgate Liquors in North Reading has regular and BW. They had 2 cases of the BW out when I was there. Didn't have any signs about limits but I just grabbed 2 of each.

 

I got this from Colonial Spirits in Acton earlier this week. I don't enjoy barrel-aged stouts, so no idea what the situation is in-store today. But could be worth a call for some of you.

Good evening stout lovers! I just wanted to send a quick update email about our release coming up on Friday! So we do have our variants in and I can announce that we have the Coffee, Barleywine AND the Northwoods stout (blueberries and almonds!!!)


If thats not already cool enough, we will also be releasing a limited number of 2016 Brand Stout cases and 2016 Barleywine bottles!!! The limits will be one case of 2016 stout per person and one bottle of 2016 barleywine. For the coffee and Northwoods, we have less than 2 cases available so get here early. Barleywine we should have around 5 cases or so of each of the '16 and '17.

For those of you who purchased raffle tickets online or in store, I will be drawing names once we close up shop tonight. The winners will get an email/call and I'll hold whatever combination of the allotment you'd like!

Just to refresh, here is what a MAXIMUM allotment would look like:

3 cases 2017 Brand Stout

1 case of 2016 Brand Stout

1 bottle of each of the following:

Northwoods stout, 2017 barleywine, 2016 barleywine, and 2017 Coffee Stout

As for Friday morning, we will have everything set up in the tasting room. All prices will be posted with the beer. Come on in, get your hand marked (to avoid anyone trying to double/triple dip) and pick up your awesome beer! I can't wait to see all of you bright and early on Friday!!! I woke up late and walked into Gordons in Waltham around 11 am with barely anyone in the parking lot and grabbed 2 bottles of the regular bcbs. So much easier than trying to chase / wait in line for the others. Hoping this years tastes good and I'll probably buy a few more to age.
