i just grabbed a bottle of coffee at craft beer cellar in braintree. i wasn't even looking for it/expecting it in that store, and the people behind me at the register had bottles, so i asked for one. no idea on limits or quantity, i'd give them a call though. i do know that they didn't get the barleywine or the northwoods

There's PLENTY at Kappys in Everett. Case limit. Only saw regular variety.

    Maybe it's Medford? That one.

Just ran over to Vinnin in Swampscott to grab their last bottle of Christmas bomb.

Some bloke there looking for BCBS

    "down there, 4 per person"

    "4 cases?" he asked.

"No. Bottles" The look of sheer incredulity on his face was priceless

pretty psyched to have scored a bottle of coffee this year with minimal effort... how long would you recommend letting it develop or bottle age before i crack into it?

Anyone know of stores around melrose area that would have coffee this late in the day. Or at least a good supply of regular so I could grab a bottle without driving all over the place.

Minimally. Coffee flavor will at best fade with time, at worst turn green peppery.

Give Kappys on Rt1 or Rt16 a call. Doubt there'll be much coffee left if any, but not a bad bet for regular

Everyone says have it fresh as possible, but I had a 2013 early in 2016 and it was still great. Wouldn't go much past that.

Of course with the newer bottle size nowadays I can't buy a 12 oz 4-pack to enjoy over a few years.

My coffee is already 4 months old. No chance it's seeing 2018

I drank one of my 2014 bcbcs earlier this week and it was excellent. Coffee was still very present.

    Anyone try the Northwoods?

I passed on it. Sounds rotten and far too expensive.

If it sounds rotten and it's too expensive for you, what do you care? A quick google search reveals 4K check ins and a rating of 4.38/5 on Untappd. I've not had it, but am very much looking forward to giving it a try.

Simply because I'm curious as to what people think. About a beer. On a beer forum.

    What's with the hostility?

Wasn't trying to be hostile. Yours was just an odd way to pose a question: this sounds awful and is overpriced -- how is it? Sorta sounds like you've already passed judgement...

There are a few reviews on BA's page for it and, like I said, quite a few Untappd check ins where you can find some tasting notes.

Dunno about passing judgement, more so decided it doesn't sound like something I'd wanna drink. Doesn't mean I'm excluded from talking to people about it.

As for reading untappd, well we are on a discussion forum. Would like to discuss to a greater degree than some snarky "what do you care" pitchfork and flaming torch retort.

Still open to hearing folks opinions

Totally. Sorry to call to question the sincerity of your inquiry.
