Just saw that River Styx is now shipping, within MA only. Seems to be clearly differentiated from other breweries doing delivery themselves. Any other MA breweries that are also now shipping?
I don't know of any others. As for this one, meh. Three 4pak maximum with a $15 delivery fee. You are basically getting three 4paks for the price of four plus it says to generously tip the staff (I'm not against that part, just noting that it adds to total cost). I appreciate what they are doing but the added fees are a bit much for me. On a somewhat related note, is a face to face signature legally required for alcohol delivery in MA? I am probably being overly cautious but I really don't want to talk to and exchange paperwork with somebody who has done the same thing with possibly a dozen other people before arriving at my door.
My experience has been that FedEx has just left the box after calling me to come down (driver was gone when I got there); Instacart scanned by ID but from a distance and the driver was wearing a mask
I just checked out their site. They do food too. That is why the delivery numbers looked so wonky. Also $20 and $22 4paks? Is that typical or is there a markup going on?
Thanks for the heads up! Just put an order in with River Styx. I've been wanting to try them for some time now. A little expensive but at least the money is supporting a good cause, am I right?
I don't know of any others that are shipping like that, but several, including Wachusett and Trillium, are doing deliveries.
I did curbside at River Styx a couple weeks ago. its definitely on the higher end of prices, but they're pretty good. just wish they had more can selection. Their facility is nice, but its a PITA to get to; probably why they had to expand to delivery, because no one like driving there. Tomorrow is my first day in the Trrillium delivery range. seems like a good time to end my TipGate "boycott"
Or you could continue the boycott and support any of the other smaller breweries that are really hurting. ♂️
will you send me a woke badge of bravery if I shop at your pre-approved businesses? I'd want to make sure everyone publicly knows my contributions to local economy like you.
You don’t get a badge, but now everyone knows that your “boycott” wasn’t about doing what was right when the convenience of delivery makes you forget about “Tipgate”. I wonder how many laid off employees trillium could have kept on payroll if the owners didn’t buy the 3.5 million dollar mansion next to the highest paid Red Sox slugger of all time.
