Pacifico is my fav from the options..i usually stray away from Mexican Lagers. Schilling's Especial is prob. the best one I've had.
Carta Blanca is my favorite. To my palate, it actually has a nice hoppy note. Goes great with some Al Pastor tacos.
The only reason I used to drink Tecate when I was younger was the can could be mistaken for a Coke whilst in a coozy because of it's red color!
Is anyone besides me surprised at the small showing of Corona? I thought it would be leading this parade.
these days Modelo seems to come up as available and solid as a choice when I’m at conferences and traveling in places that don’t have “craft”. Lot of nostalgia for Pacifico and Corona, can’t say either is actually good though. Lotta love for San Miguel, that was my “cerveza” when I was living in Asia many years ago.
Not really. I largely attribute its popularity to marketing and availability (it's available everywhere). I wouldn't expect very many members on BA to be big fans of Corona. To use Hamm's as a comparison point, I can honestly understand why some members like it. If you happen to like and enjoy AALs, Hamms has several features going for it. It's inexpensive, isn't pretentious, and it's certainly no worse than most other macro AALs. I don’t believe any of that criteria applies to Corona, except that it's (arguably) no worse than any other macro AAL. That wouldn't make for a very popular beer on BA I wouldn't think.
