Going to Madison next weekend, any places other than woodmans worth going to? Also anything good available there that isn't near the border? Never been to Madison so I don't really know any places.
Jennifer Street Market is my go to, probably the best bottle selection. Brasserie V for best draft selection.
Karben4 for really good beers and Fantasy Factory ipa which is outstanding. their brunch is really good too
For drinking: Karben4 & Ale Asylum - both great breweries with nice tap rooms. The Old Fashioned - Great food and tap list (all Wisconsin beers) and it's right on the Capitol Square downtown. The Coopers Tavern - Excellent tap list, also on the square. Tipsy Cow - Voted best burger in Wisconsin. Memorial Union Terrace - A MUST stop in the Spring/Summer. For buying, besides Woodman's & Riley's: Steve's on University Ave. (downtown-ish) & Junction Road (west side) Trixie's Liquor - smallest of this list, but still a nice selection.
I'll also be in town on Saturday. Kinda last minute, but anyone from Madison interested in a bottle share?
Jenni St. Market is cash only, but for such a small walk in beer cooler the selection is impressive. I would look for the Lakefront Johnson IIPA as I don't think that made it to the border.
Jenni St. is cash only but if you use their atm and show them the receipt when you pay they will give you a discount for the same amount as the atm fee. Good deal.
Jenny Street, Rileys, Star or any of the Steves for beer selection besides Woodmans. Lot's of breweries to visit like Ale Asylum, Karben4, Next Door, One Barrel, Great Dane, Vintage, Capital...or if you feel like a bit of a worthwhile drive, visit New Glarus. As far as places to eat with good beer....too many to list....
If you see any Lake Louie Bunny Green Toes IPA hanging out, grab it. One of the best IPA's I've had this year. He brewed a very small batch so it's mostly gone. Deeeelicious.
