In madison for the week (downtown) and wondering where I ought to be looking for a couple beers - preferably bottled. Abyss Alpha King CW Bourbon Barrel Stout
Whole foods still has some abyss, FFF is delivered on Tuesdays, haven't heard of alpha this coming week, and no clue on the bbs.
Riley's is downtown but beer selection is hit or miss. I like Star Liquor on Willy Street, they carry FFF. Steve's is also a nice shop but a bit our of your way.
BBS has sold out at most of the larger stores throughout the city as far as I've noticed, but I'm sure there are a few spots where it's still hanging out. I'd check Riley's first, then Neil Liquors in Middleton if you're willing to make the drive. Jenifer St. Market is another stop that I'd recommend.. they're out of BBS but probably have AK. Based on what you're looking for, you should do yourself a favor and pick up a 12 Dog and a Howler from Black Husky while you're here (Star Liquor or Steve's) -- they aren't hyped but are really great local beers. 12 Dog is a huge rich stout, and Howler is a really perfectly balanced IIPA with honey.
