Madison - Downtown Great Dane Bockfest

The downtown Great Dane had it's annual Fat Tuesday Bockfest last night. Went down to see how the John Jacob was this year (first year I had it was phenomenal! but the last couple times it was meh...just ok). Was pleased to see it was on tap this year as they don't always have it every year but was more pleasantly surprised to see they had an Iced version which I decided to try.
All I have to say is...heaven in a glass. Fantastic! Smooth, creamy, thick and filled with banana, clove, spices, chocolate...it was all I could do to not order a third glass but had to show some restraint with the 9% abv.
If you're a fan of bocks and are in the Madison area, it may be worth a trip to head on down to the downtown Great Dane and try some of this. Hopefully they still have some left...I may be heading there for supper.
