Beer list was posted earlier this week, anything yall are excited to try this year? Looking forward to some of the specialty IPA's like Back Forty's Fuzzy Belly, Cahaba's Cedar Oka Uba, and Railyard's El Dorado IPA. And curious to check out the new guys, Ghost Train. http://www.magiccitybrewfest.com/breweries-and-beer-lists/
Glad you posted this. I grabbed tickets for Saturday, this'll give me done thing fun to do this weekend. Any recommendations for a place to drink afterwards Saturday night?
Trim Tab Brewing isn't too far from where the Brewfest is being held and they are having an after party there. If you are looking for food and something more chill I like Carrigans or The J.Clyde.
I didn't go this year but what did yall think? I heard a lot of people are getting tired of the same ole, same ole. I did hear it was much less crowded with shorter lines..
I still had a good time and this was the 8th year I've gone. I like that the focus over the years has moved more and more towards Alabama based brewers and I felt like they made up a majority of the booths this year. I wouldn't mind if they transitioned it to an AL only brewfest and drop the price down.
For me it is hard to justify the price given I have had most every beer there, with a few exceptions each year. I went to FestiveAle this past fall and liked it a lot. Will probably just go to it from now on
We went to the WildSouth Brewfest at Work Play this February and it was very cool. Unlimited tastings of a dozen Alabama breweries and a hand full from NC. $40 ticket but it also included unlimited Jim & Nicks and Mellow Mushroom food so I made it worth the price of admission.
