Hey all, I'm out in the midwest and was at a small beer share recently. We basically did a bunch of FFF and some West Coast beers (supplication, damnation, and a few others I liked...). One of the West Coasters was the Maharaja. I was instantly a fan. I just grabbed one off of the shelf at a small bottle shop for 7.99 . It's obviously not a white whale, but I'm wondering if this is a beer that's typically available in it's home region, or if it's a hard one to get. Also, how much does it go for out there (Prices are usually lower in your area, but I thought this was a great find at the price for out here.)?
It's released twice a year (Feb and June....or there 'bout). They do go quick, but not as quick as some other limited brews out here. Fairly widely available at the beer stops. About 7-8 bones. It's almost gone for the year right now, though
That sounds like what I expected to hear. Thanks for the reply. I'll be looking for it on the shelves now, especially at that price. Cheers!
It's easy to come by when it's in season. One of my faves, although I find that the flavor profiles vary a bit batch-to-batch. Some are very fruity and tropical (think 90 Minuite) while others are more bitter and pine-y (Ruination-style). Both are good, but very different.
Pareker payless had at least a case on the shelf last night, doesn't look like its a big mover through there.
What prompted me to ask was that the Binny's (chain liquor store) doesn't seem to carry it, but the lil fella down the road had it. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to enjoying it. Thanks for sharing your regional wisdom, it's been helpful to me.
We actually package Maha around 8 times a year now in stead of just 2. If anyone ever wants some fresh I can get it for u the day it's packaged I would even go 2 for 1 considering its free for me. Great beer still one of my favs.
