Hi folks - it's that time of year and I'm once again putting up the bat-signal for maibocks on the front range. On tap or packaged. I went to my local shop recently and found a grand total of zero options so I'm getting a little nervous. But planning for my annual trip to Prost this weekend.
Green Mountain has their Maibock on tap which I always enjoy. Applejack has the DAB Maibock in stock, at least they did when I was there a couple days ago. Bought a 6-Pack of Horse & Dragon's Maibock a week or more ago. If I remember any more I'll update. I am also a big fan of Maibocks.
Danico, Zoigl, and Prost definitely do. Those are the only ones I've seen/had, although it's not usually a style I seek out. I'm a little surprised The Bull & Bush doesn't. They seem to put theirs on at random throughout the year.
I think it's pretty great. At least beer-wise. I think they're still figuring out what kind of branding they're going for (the taproom is mostly painted plain white now), but the beers are top notch. They have food trucks lined up nearly every day, too. As far as brewery openings go, this is one of the most polished ones in recent memory.
