How many of the releases/events are you going to be hitting up on 10/24 in Maine? We've got Oxbow Goods From the Woods, MBC Dinner release, Bissell Brother's Swish release, Allagash Ghoulschip release and then Halloween party, and Tributary Mott the Lesser release. Too many to hit in one day.

I request that this title be changed to reflect proper maine lingo. It should be Maine 10/24 Beer Clustah.

Also, keep in mind that ghoulschip is only once a year, goods from the woods is only once a year and a big party in new castle that you must attend. If you are doing goods from the woods you are SoL on the others. Tributary is going to be impossible unless you are an out of stater hitting it up on your way back. Swish is every couple weeks.

If you are an out of stater to maximize your haul....

Dinner @ 7 am -> swish @ 12 -> ghoulschip @ 4, and maybe you'll get lucky at tributary on the way back.

You just cant do goods from the woods without missing on ghoulschip or mott.

The Oxbox/Allagash overlap is the one I can't understand. The target audience is really very similar and Allagash deciding to release 4-6pm is such a bad decision. Why they couldn't do last year's plan and release in the morning I just can't understand.
yes I know it's first world problems and sounds entitled but its like trying to choose between two children, it is a hard decision.

We're coming up from PA with a bunch of local goodies on Friday, hitting OEC, possibly NEBCO, Jack's Abby, Trillium, and Night Shift, among various bottle shops along the way. We're spending the night in Boston and leaving for Maine early Saturday AM. We're targeting Dinner, Swish, Ghoulship, and any other goodies we can find and take part in with our night's stay in Portland. The thread from the last Dinner release was encouraging based on MBC's line management, although I'm a little worried now based on all of the events that are going on the same weekend!

Garrison city is now "postponing" their can release and releasing a new beer/part ALSO OCT 24th. This is getting to be so stupid

Yeah. So much good beer being released that people can't get it all. So stupid.

Well......that sucks....didn't know about the Mott the Lesser release. Maybe it'll be a bi-yearly thing? Fall and Spring?

how early do you think we need to show up to Maine Beer to lock down a case of Dinner? I heard it was a nightmare in April, but June wasn't that bad.

Last release wasn't bad because April was such a disaster it turned a lot of people off. Not sure if hearing last release went so smoothly it's going to draw a bigger crowd again. I've usually showed up around 5-530 AM and end up ~250 in line.

Hoping to hit MBC/Bissell/Allagash that day. Just booked a room across from MBC with a few friends to stay from Friday into Saturday morning so that we can jump in line when it starts to form. Hopefully we can get out of Freeport early and get over to Allagash/Bissell without too much hassle.

No need for a room then, line starts forming the night before. I think someone mentioned last time that a few people were in line at 10PM. :astonished:

Well that's crazy. We got a room since we have a 2hour drive and are planning to make it the night before. There are four of us so if there is a really insane line forming we can just rotate people in and out so everyone can sleep some. I'm fine with standing in line a bit for a release like this... But from 10pm to 7am is crazy. Also, I don't have to be the very first person in line, just need to be guaranteed to get a case

Don't stay over night. It's going to be freaking cold and it's only a small handful of crazies. If you are in line before 7 you should be fine. These are ~700 case releases, limit 1 pp.

Staying overnight makes is so much easier for me, even if we just get in line at 6:30 or something. I live 2.5hrs away so that is a really early start to the day if I don't drive up the night before. Its also super cheap since 4 of us are sharing one room.

While the last Dinner release was much more low key than the one before (they even had a few cases left the next day after the most recent one), it's hard to tell how this one will go given all the other festivities going on. I'll be avoiding all of the madness and drinking some cellar offerings and celebrating my birthday.

Sorry, when i said dont stay over night, i meant dont stand outside the brewery at 10 PM. Hotel and a real bed is quite acceptable and encouraged.
