Hi again, Looooooong time no post. So much so this is my "first" one per the revamped BA. A question to my fellow Maine BAs: I am looking to compile a Maine "Cask Ale Trail". Searching the NE Forum did not turn up much, and perusing the Places list I believe there are a lot more places offering cask ale than stated. So, embracing the philosophy that "there ain't no one of us as smart as all of us" I am asking that if you know of an establishment (name & city) in Maine that offers cask ale to please contribute your BA .02 to this thread. I'll organize the results & share. Cheers!
I don't think you are gonna find much of a trail. Maybe a trailhead....In Portland the GLB and Gritty's always have hand pulls pouring I believe.
I would start my search here. Looks like Portland is the place to go for casks in Maine: http://nerax.org/wp_nerax/real-ale/#find-cask-ale
Example - this place isn't even listed on BA and they do cask. As soon as I can confirm the other particulars I'll be glad to add it. http://montsweagroadhouse.com/
McKay's Public House in Bar Harbor had a cask engine and are proud to always have something pouring from it. Spent some time there on vacation last week and really enjoyed it.
