Once again plenty of left over cases today, and nobody lined up to get them when I picked up my case at noon. With the nicer weather it seemed like there were a lot more people hanging around to get pours. Will be nice when they expand the tasting room.

Doh! My bad, I wasn’t even thinking about the season.

Question! How much is it for 1 bottle of Dinner when you buy it at release??

    From their Instagram page
"all cases are properly coded. Due to an issue with our coder, some bottles do not have the code printed on them. This release is all batch #18 with a date of 3/31/18. We apologize for any inconvenience"

    $8

Happy to see some leftover. How's this batch from the new system?

Had some on draft yesterday and then some from the bottle last night, same as ever to my tastes...

Happy that totaled lingered for a bit, was able to grab two.

Haven’t had Dinner in a few years, it’s still a great beer. But definitely not $8 worth of greatness...

So, happy you were able to grab a couple but unhappy that grabbed a couple? Perhaps a pour would have been the better way to go.

Got a pour as well! I don't mind splurging on beer, gotta treat yourself after all. In the grand scheme $8 for Dinner vs $5.50 for Trill is only a few bucks. But in terms of it deserving the price tag, no. I bought it because it is tasty and I don't get the chance to have it often. I suppose I'm paying the premium for rarity... If i'm ever forced to put myself on a beer budget then Dinner would definitely be a luxury I couldn't afford

On a related note, there still seems to be a lot of trade activity for dinner, but a lot of folks are asking 3-1 on tree house cans, including rarer releases like Human Condition and Very Green. I would like to get a bottle of Dinner; I only had one once a year ago, but those trade request seem excessive to me. Is this batch particularly good? I figure a 2-1 on Tree House with one of the cans being a more limited option should close easily, but lots of people are acting like Dinner is a "whale". I don't get it.

Dinner is not a Whale. Especially on the 18th Batch. It is trade bait tho for newcomers to craft beer.

If anything, it should go 2 Dinner bottles for 1 Human Condition.

I look at it the same way. It is way overpriced but has become fairly easy to buy when released and I like the excuse to also stop at the various breweries in Portland on my way back home. Despite the abuse it takes from many I also think it is a really good beer.

To my tastes Dinner has been really consistent. They did ramp up production a bit more on this batch but I found it to be the same as always. I think it's a great beer but that is up to individual taste of course.

Yeah I feel the same.Price aside, like most of their stuff it's a very well crafted beer.
It was also a lot easier to get this time. I had a 11:00 slot from the initial offering and the night before my wife noticed that they weren't selling off the extra cases so we bought another.
Got there at 10:30 with no lines, walked in and grabbed our beer. Had lunch in Freeport with some old friends, stopped by Bissell Brothers and were home by 4:30
Beat doing yard work all day
I think this beer falls off fairly quickly, so I've just been sharing it with my beer friends

It's certainly delicious, but it's on the same tier as any other limited release IPA in the New England. If I was trading it I'd go $4$ but that's just me. I was never in it to win it

Dinner just came out before a lot of the other stuff and still carries that mystique with it. Same thing goes for heady.

Both great beers I'll never turn down when offered. But I do agree with others it hurts to buy $7 bottles of Lunch and $8 bottles of dinner in state.

However, I don't normally buy cases of much (I did do the first ticketed dinner shit show) so a few bottles here and there I can do.

One other thing to mention was the shelf life. When I bought the case I knew I might not get through it too fast. The lady and I held onto a few being tied up with the kid a bit and ended up drinking a few a good 2-3 months after purchase. The taste and quality had really suffered. For comparison I just opened a few greens recently from the Thanksgiving release and there was hardly a change at all!

The real crime is cold brewed coffee being $4-5+ bucks everywhere in 2018. My friends coffee shop used to sell 20 ounces of it every day before high school in the 90's. Lou the owner said he'd still sell it at that price if he hadn't sold the business. Food for thought on prices in 2018....

it's def not worth $8/btl when compared to the local market, but given I had my first case a year just a few months ago and loved every drop, I could def see it being a once a year purchase.

I brew my own coldbrew because it's literally letting beans sit in water for a long time. So I save money there.

Agreed and I do too, but it's amazing I used to get it for $1.75.

Always looking for recipe(bean ideas) so feel free to pm anything good.
