Can't entirely blame them for this one, they were forced to move to a new system by Freeport. The city didn't want to deal with all the cars lining route 1 anymore.

They're only going to receive more flack if they continue this process. I can name massive parking lots, nearby, that they can rent out. Considering the profit they make off a Dinner day alone, I'm sure they can afford it.

At $5 a pop, I'm positive that plenty of ticket holders who opportunistically purchased a ticket without really thinking it through won't show up for their bottles. Locals can arrive to MBC at noon and buy any unclaimed bottles.

What would you suggest they do differently? Maybe have the ticket sale be on a Saturday?
There's always going to be some people who can't make it to a release, or be at their computer for a ticket sale - can't make everyone happy all the time - but this seems like the most organized way to solve their current problem.

They did it the right way. The brewery is a business and does not owe any single person anything just because you live close by. Your bank doesn't give you better treatment just because you live a mile closer then another neighbor.

I think it's great what MBC is doing and takes the STRESS out of trying to get a beer for a person who really wants it. It certainly will make it more relaxing. I wish more breweries would cater to this. Cheers to progression.

I would suggest they do the tickets by a random draw, as some other places do. And, since they are going to this type of system, let people pick up at times convenient for them, anytime during business hours over the weekend.

Someone is telling me that the price for bottles is increasing from $8 to $10 with this release. Can anyone confirm whether this is correct?

MBC posted on Instagram that the full case would be $101.88 including tax and bottle deposit.

Is dinner ever on tap at restaraunts around Maine, or is it brewery only?

On in a lot of places in CT. Not in MA? I assume it is plentiful in ME. Much more non-brewery availability considering it is b/n leaf peeper and skiing season. They tend to "hold" more during peak seasons there (the two aforementioned and during the summer when the vacation crowds flock. Check beermenus for a more specific location.

Maybe you're thinking of Lunch? Dinner is brewery only, except for a couple times it's been on tap for special events, I think.

Want to head up today for a draft pull as I know it's confirmed on this morning. Anyone ever been the day after and have any insight into how quick it might go. We can't be there right at opening and probably close to noon. Grabbing a swish pull on the way south will be nice too.

I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the 630 -730 slot. It ran really smoothly. Showed up at 625 and the lot was packed but could park at the motel across street. I wasn't psyched to get up that early but turned out to be a blessing as I went to bissell brothers after and got some swish. A lot of people were talking about not being able to get tickets but it definitely made for less of a mob scene than has been in the past.

Same here. Dinner release when perfectly smooth. Went directly to Bissell afterwards for Swish release and if I wasn't already fiending for for some food, I could have made it to Foundation before Epiphany sold out. Alas...

I really should have. That bacon egg lobster and cheese sandwich looked good too.
