Just saw an article about this - a collaboration to make "Beeriskey" between Sand Creek Brewery (Black River Falls, WI) and Infinity Spirits (Eau Claire, WI). Not crazy about the name, but I think it's a cool idea from a brewery local to the area I grew up in. I guess I'm not too familiar with spirits, but is this a novel idea? I for one have never heard of it before.

Cool idea, whiskey does basically start as a beer-like concoction before they distill it.

there is a company from california(charbay i believe is the name) that does this with two of bear republic's beers. i got a bottle of the one made out of their stout, it was decent but not worth the price. the other is made with racer 5, i think, and had some pretty good reviews

Vintage distilled their Woodshed at Yahara Bay. I really like the fresh batch but the batch they barrel aged not so much.
